Job summary

NTU Singapore's SLim Group seeks a Project Officer to advance automated cloning workflows, synthesize gene circuits, and optimize bioprocesses for biomolecule production. You will work across molecular biology, synthetic biology, and bioprocess engineering, contributing as an individual contributor to a multidisciplinary project.

You will execute experiments, present results, and prepare reports for funding agencies while collaborating with scientists.

Qualifications

• Experience in recombinant DNA technology, molecular cloning, and microbial expression systems.
• Working knowledge of protein purification using AKTA FPLC and basic protein analytics.
• Familiarity with cyanobacteria and photosynthetic microbes is advantageous.
• Ability to independently design and execute experiments with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to manage and drive project activities to successful completion.
• Ability to deliver outcomes in a timely manner and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize automated molecular cloning workflows and design synthetic gene circuits.
• Establish and optimize bioprocesses for biomolecule production.
• Execute experiments and research activities to meet project objectives.
• Present findings at meetings, seminars, and other forums.
• Prepare reports for funding agencies and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with team members across groups to support project outcomes.
• Provide guidance to final year project students and interns.
• Manage procurement of laboratory consumables and equipment.
• Participate in general laboratory operations as required.
