Biotech Project Officer: Automate Cloning & Gene Circuits

Job summary

NTU Singapore's SLim Group seeks a motivated Project Officer to support research in molecular cloning automation, gene circuit design, and bioprocess development. You will contribute to automated workflows, design and construct synthetic gene circuits, and establish bioprocesses for biomolecule production.

As an individual contributor in a multidisciplinary team, you will execute experiments, present findings at meetings and seminars, and prepare reports for funding agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in recombinant DNA technology, molecular cloning and microbial expression systems.
• Working knowledge of AKTA FPLC and basic protein analytics.
• Familiarity with cyanobacteria and photosynthetic microbes is advantageous.
• Ability to independently design and execute experiments with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and initiative to drive project activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize automated molecular cloning workflows, design synthetic gene circuits, and establish bioprocesses.
• Execute experiments and research activities to achieve project objectives.
• Present research findings at meetings and seminars and prepare reports for funding agencies.
• Collaborate with scientists across groups and supervise final year project students or interns.
• Manage procurement of laboratory consumables and equipment; participate in general lab operations.
