Responsibilities

  • Assist Planner(s) on collecting data inputs, analysing, compiling, and updating progress registers across project phases
  • Document and standardise the SOP for common planning methodology across projects
  • Plan and support project activities, assessments, reviews and participate in status meetings
  • Update progress status to identify forecast milestones and write mitigation plans with the project team
  • Perform Extension of Time (EOT) analysis under guidance for claim management
  • Prepare executive summary dashboards for key milestones and delay reasons for senior management reporting
  • Identify opportunities to automate planning and reporting using software and technology

The Internship in Project Management Office (PMO) for Planning department will provide valuable insights to various Rail Infrastructure Projects in Siemens Mobility particularly to focus on the time element aspect in correlation with cost and scope in the project. Valuable opportunity to gain a first‑hand exposure in tender and project experience across professionals in the industry and to coordinate across various departments in PMO – Documentations, Design, and Requirement management, as well as throughout different functions and levels in the organisations.

PMO Planning Intern will be rotated to assist different Planner(s) with diverse expertise for more exciting and dynamic learning experience in the collaborative environment. Typical day‑to‑day job is (but not limited to) to assist Planner(s) in the execution of Planning deliverables, Project monitoring & tracking, Claim and Presentation tasks, as well as on the ad‑hoc task as assigned by Planner(s) from time to time. In addition, the Intern will be encouraged to apply their knowledge, interest, and “out of the box” thinking with fresh new ideas to improve on the current work processes.

Main tasks and responsibilities:
  • To assist Planner(s) on collecting data inputs, analysing, compiling, and updating various Progress Registers in different Phases of the Projects
  • To work closely with Planner(s) in documenting and standardising the SOP for common Planning methodology, practices, processes across different Projects.
  • To plan and support project activities, assessments, reviews and participate in status meetings as well as updating notes or Minutes of Meeting.
  • To work closely with Planner(s) in updating the progress status to identify the forecast milestone completion, Critical Path analysis and involve in the mitigation plan (if any) with Project team.
  • To perform Extension of Time (EOT) Analysis techniques under guidance of Planner(s) for Claim Management when delay arises, to follow up in the subsequent discussions and how to address client’s concerns.
  • To assist Planning Team Leader in preparation of executive summary dashboard for all key milestone dates with the delay trend, reasons for delay, and EOT info (any claimed/granted quantum) – for reporting to senior management
  • To identify any opportunity to initiate for process automation in Planning & reporting activities by utilising software and technology to improve its efficiency and output.
  • To assist Planner(s) on the reporting matters for both internal and external, including necessary coordination and follow‑up with relevant stakeholders.
  • To support Planner(s) on the critical/ urgent matter and on ad‑hoc task as assigned by Planner(s) from time to time.
What You Need To Make Real What Matters.
  • Willingness to learn the new technology and work in creating template, documents to increase efficiency of the department.
  • Candidate pursuing IT, Engineering, or Science related course will be an advantage
  • Good IT Skills and proficiency in MS Office (Excel and Power Point).
  • Interest in Project Management
  • Right attitude and willingness to learn Planning tools, such as Primavera and MS Project
  • Analytical mindset with cognitive ability to connect the dots in troubleshooting
  • Communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential
  • Timeline driven mindset, fervent, and assertive
  • Cheerful disposition, pro‑active, and Can‑Do (positive) attitude
  • Strong motivation and eagerness to achieve the result/ output
  • Meticulous with eye for details.
  • Able to multi‑task
  • Able to work in Team environment

To be eligible for this position, applicants must possess a Valid Student Pass in Singapore or satisfy the Ministry of Manpower’s Work Holiday Pass (WHP) requirements.
