Project Lead, Data Centre

Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Singapore is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead end-to-end data centre delivery, including new builds, expansions and upgrades. You will develop execution plans, schedules, budgets and resource strategies while coordinating with architects, engineers and contractors.

You will monitor progress, manage scope and risks, drive commissioning and handover, and ensure compliance with codes and client requirements.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in construction project management.
• At least 3–5 years managing mission-critical, data centre, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, logistics, or industrial construction projects.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale projects.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems within critical environments.
• Knowledge of Tier III/Tier IV data centre design principles.
• Familiarity with commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST), and operational readiness requirements.
• Understanding of construction contracts, procurement, scheduling, and cost management.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of data centre construction projects, including new builds, expansions, fit-outs, and upgrades.
• Develop project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource strategies.
• Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to mitigate schedule and cost risks.
• Manage project scope, change orders, risk registers, and project governance processes.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, engineers, and contractors during design and construction phases.
• Review and validate design documentation, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
• Ensure construction activities comply with approved plans, building codes, and client requirements.
• Oversee site activities and construction milestones.
• Manage general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and commissioning partners.
• Monitor contractor performance, project deliverables, and contractual compliance.
• Lead project meetings, progress reviews, and stakeholder updates.
• Coordinate integrated systems testing and commissioning activities.
• Ensure readiness of critical infrastructure including electrical distribution systems, UPS and backup power, generators and fuel systems, HVAC and cooling systems, fire detection and suppression systems, and BMS/DCIM platforms.
• Support successful operational handover to facility and operations teams.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations.

Job Description

Project Management

Design & Construction Oversight

• Coordinate with architects, consultants, engineers, and contractors during design and construction phases.
• Review and validate design documentation, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
• Ensure construction activities comply with approved plans, building codes, and client requirements.
• Oversee site activities and construction milestones.

Contractor & Vendor Management

• Manage general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and commissioning partners.
• Monitor contractor performance, project deliverables, and contractual compliance.
• Lead project meetings, progress reviews, and stakeholder updates.

Commissioning & Handover

• Coordinate integrated systems testing and commissioning activities.
• Ensure readiness of critical infrastructure including:
