Role Overview
You will report to the Project Team Lead within the Infrastructure Development function of a Sports Infrastructure division. In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for planning, developing, designing and constructing a new generation of sports facilities, through the execution and control of project development procedures, including reviewing feasibility studies, conceptualising sport facilities, planning technical requirements, evaluating technical proposals, and implementing the facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out site identification, evaluation of potential development sites, and feasibility assessments for planning proposals, including inter-agency discussions to ensure regulatory compliance, feasibility studies of individual sites, agency consultations, and evaluation of proposals to deliver the project.
- Carry out administrative and finance tasks to facilitate project delivery, working closely with the appointed Design & Build Contractor and other external stakeholders (such as technical agencies and collaboration partners) to support design and construction, ensuring compliance with technical agency requirements for successful project delivery.
- Prepare comprehensive site identification reports covering evaluated potential development sites and feasibility assessments.
- Maintain consultation records and planning guidance obtained from relevant planning and government agencies.
- Secure confirmed and approved sites with documented planning parameters, zoning requirements and regulatory clearances.
- Prepare site evaluation documentation, including selection criteria, technical assessments and stakeholder feedback.
- Prepare planning submission materials and maintain approval tracking records to support project progression.
- Engage a Registered Surveyor (via tender) for the preparation of boundary demarcation.
- Prepare, call and evaluate tenders for both the Superintending Officer (SO) and Quantity Surveyor (QS) consultancies, managing them closely to ensure the project is delivered according to contractual specifications, statutory regulations, and within budget.
- Prepare, call and evaluate tenders for the Design & Build (D&B) Contractor, working closely with the appointed contractor to ensure the project is completed according to approved technical specifications and requirements.
Specific Requirements

- 1 to 3 years' experience in the built environment sector.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of programs.

- Innovative, with a high degree of creativity to think outside the box and come up with novel ideas and solutions.
- Hands-on and meticulous in their work, able to deliver under tight deadlines.
- Able to cope in a fast-moving environment and work independently under minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills, a good problem-solving mindset, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
- Passion for working in the sports industry.
