Job summary

infrastructure & facility services pte. ltd. seeks a capable Senior Project Engineer to manage multiple M&E projects in Singapore from planning through completion, including cost control and timely delivery.

You will lead technical reviews, oversee installation and commissioning, mentor engineers, and support tenders for business growth while coordinating with clients and subcontractors to ensure quality and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience managing M&E projects in construction, semiconductor, pharma or subcontracting environments.
• Strong knowledge of M&E systems, contracts and commercial terms.
• Experience with equipment installation, M&E hookups and commissioning.
• Proficient with MS Office, project scheduling software and AutoCAD/BIM.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Proficient written and spoken English for technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage M&E projects from scope development to cost control.
• Plan schedules, forecast activities and coordinate material procurement.
• Review drawings, BOMs, datasheets and SOWs.
• Perform detailed design including equipment selection and duct/pipe sizing.
• Review SWPs and ensure compliance with safety and quality.
• Monitor site progress, coordinate M&E hookup activities and resolve issues.
• Troubleshoot M&E problems and evaluate subcontractor proposals.
• Coordinate with clients, suppliers and internal teams for smooth execution.
• Monitor costs and submit monthly progress and variation claims.
• Support delivery through effective communication and planning.
• Independently manage multiple projects from planning through completion.
• Lead technical reviews and provide guidance to project teams.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage M&E projects at various stages, including scope development, subcontract preparation, customer proposals, budgeting and cost control.
• Plan project schedules, forecast engineering activities and coordinate material procurement to ensure timely project completion.
• Review and interpret technical design documents, including drawings, datasheets, Bills of Materials (BOMs) and subcontractor Scopes of Work (SOWs).
• Perform detailed design work, including equipment selection, duct and pipe sizing, and coordinate with the drafting team on construction and shop drawings.
• Review method statements, risk assessments and Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) to ensure compliance with project, quality and safety requirements.
• Monitor site construction and equipment installation, coordinate M&E hookup activities, and resolve technical issues in collaboration with relevant project stakeholders to ensure compliance with design documents and project specifications.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and evaluate subcontractor and equipment proposals.
• Coordinate with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor project progress, manage costs and ensure timely submission of monthly progress claims and variation claims, where applicable.
• Support project delivery through effective communication, problem-solving and coordination with site personnel and project stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities – Senior Project Engineer

• Independently manage multiple M&E projects from planning through completion, including budget control, cost risk management and timely delivery.
• Lead technical reviews, resolve complex M&E issues and provide technical guidance to project teams.
• Oversee equipment installation and M&E hookup activities, ensuring proper mechanical and electrical connections, technical compliance and successful commissioning.
• Lead stakeholder coordination and manage project risks, critical issues and commercial matters.
• Mentor and guide Project Engineers, Site Supervisors and workers to achieve project milestones safely and on schedule.
• Support business development through client engagement and contributions to tenders and proposals.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience in managing M&E projects within the construction industry, particularly in semiconductor, pharmaceutical or subcontracting environments.
• Good understanding of M&E systems, construction contracts and commercial terms.
• Knowledge of equipment installation, M&E hookups and commissioning.
• Proficient in MS Office, project scheduling software and AutoCAD/BIM operations.
• Good organizational, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English, including technical documentation and presentations.

Experience Requirements by Level

• Project Engineer: Candidates with at least 2 years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply. Fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.
• Senior Project Engineer: Typically 5–8 years of relevant M&E project management experience, with a proven ability to manage projects independently and lead project teams.
