Job summary

Gammon Construction Limited in Singapore is seeking an experienced M&E Senior Engineer to lead coordination, monitor progress, and ensure quality of workmanship in line with project requirements and schedule.You will manage M&E sub-contractors, review drawings, prepare shop drawings, supervise installation and commissioning, and drive variation orders while maintaining M&E drawing management using AutoCAD and BIM.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering recognised by PE Board / BCA
• 8+ years’ experience in Building Engineering projects
• Experience with M&E coordination and drawings management
• Licence or accreditation with EMA is an added advantage

Responsibilities

• Lead M&E coordination to ensure work aligns with design intent and project schedule
• Review M&E drawings and advise on provisions and discrepancies
• Coordinate with in-house architectural/civil/structural teams to minimize clashes
• Manage M&E sub-contractor progress, shop drawings, materials, sample submissions, and approvals
• Attend M&E coordination meetings and issue drawing revisions
• Ensure on-site M&E drawing management and documentation control
• Oversee testing and commissioning activities for mechanical & electrical systems
• Follow up on variation orders with client and consultants
• Work with planners on project schedule and site utilities coordination

Job description

• Understand contract requirements and M&E specifications in order to monitor progress, quality of workmanship and comply with project requirements and construction schedule
• Liaise with design consultants on the design intent, review M&E design drawings and advise on any under provisions and over provisions
• Coordinate with in-house architectural, civil and structural team to minimize discrepancies
• Check and prepare material sample with shop drawing submission
• Manage M&E subcontractors work progress, shop drawings, materials, samples, method statements submissions, and approval
• Attend M&E coordination meeting, prepare M&E coordination drawings and liaise with Architectural Coordinators and Design Engineers for drawing issuance
• Ensure good M&E drawing management and the control of M&E documentation and filing on site
• Ensure timely production and submission of M&E shop drawings, materials submission and method statements
• Lead and mange M&E package delivery, construction and testing and commissioning activities
• Ensure all M&E site activities are well-planned, well-coordinated and on time
• Work with the planners on the project schedule
• Coordinate and assist site superintendent on installation and maintenance of site temporary utilities services
• Coordinate with all M&E stakeholders to ensure work is carried out in accordance with the approved shop drawings, materials and method statements
• Conduct pre-inspection with subcontractors prior to facilitation RE and RTO inspection
• Carryout testing and commissioning activities at work site for both mechanical & electrical aspects
• Update and follow up on variation order with client and consultant
• Understanding in details of both mechanical and electrical systems

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering recognised by PE Board / BCA, or relevant M&E accreditation recognised by PE Board/BCA
• At least 8 years’ experience in Building Engineering projects
• Candidate with more experience will be considered for a senior role
• Candidate with Grade 7 Electrician’s Licence from EMA will have an added advantage
• Experience with prefabricated MEP system projects will have an added advantage
• Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and BIM
• Organised, meticulous with positive work attitude
• Able to work independently and a team player
• Good analytical, supervision and communication skills
• Completed QM project and a registered Core-trade Foremen/Supervisor would be an added advantage
