Job summary

Exponent in Singapore is seeking an experienced Electrical/MEP engineer to lead planning, design, and documentation for building services. You will prepare tender documents, supervise installation and commissioning, and coordinate with consultants and subcontractors to ensure quality and timely delivery.

The role requires at least 5 years in M&E projects, strong communication, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a construction environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical OR Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in M&E projects.
• Preferably with relevant experience in the construction industry.
• Good communications skills and able to work under minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review technical documents such as design basis, load lists, cable schedules, and single-line diagrams.
• Involve in the planning and design of electrical engineering works for building services.
• Prepare tender documents, design and technical for MEP specifications for tenders, and supervise installation and commissioning of MEP works.
• Collaborate with peers of other disciplines in feasibility studies and design, ensuring excellent service delivery to clients.
• Ensure works follow the project quality plan, contract requirements, drawings and specifications.
• Monitor and control works including subcontractors to meet requirements.
• Coordinate meetings and daily briefings at site; liaise with M&E consultants, clients, subcontractors and authorities.
• Check installation drawings and prepare relevant schedules; perform testing and commissioning at work site.
• Prepare shop drawings for construction; coordinate with the team to ensure planning and resources are clear.
• Ensure on-time completion within programme and budget; guide subordinates and escalate deviations when needed.
• Assess subcontractor performance against plan and resolve issues collaboratively.

• Perform testing and commissioning at work site


• Prepare shop drawings for construction


• Co-ordinate with the rest of the team right down to the foreman/subcontractor to ensure everyone is clear on the planning, scope, resource requirements


• Ensure that the works are carried out on time in accordance with the programme and on budget.


• Guide and support subordinates in carrying out the tasks as planned; Seek support from and report to superior if required


• Assess subcontractor performance against plan and resolve issues collaboratively; Escalate major deviations/delays from plan to superior in a timely manner

Job Requirement
