Job summary

GENERAL RAIL TECHNOLOGY PRIVATE LIMITED is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee engineering projects, coordinate schedules, and ensure compliance with requirements. You will liaise with clients for site surveys and data gathering, participate in meetings, and manage resources to achieve smooth project handovers.

The role requires reading technical drawings, interpreting specifications, and communicating in Chinese and English with China HQ and third parties.

Qualifications

• Engineering, architecture, or building science degree required.
• 2+ years in construction (civil/structural/geotechnical/mechanical/electrical) preferred, fresh graduates welcome.
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in MS Office and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the preparation, scheduling, coordination, and supervision of assigned engineering projects.
• Ensuring compliance with project requirements, reviewing drawings for accuracy, and addressing technical inquiries.
• Engaging with clients to understand and interpret their needs (including site surveys and data gathering).
• Participating in project meetings and implementing follow-up actions.
• Developing detailed work schedules, manpower allocation, and resource planning.
• Reviewing engineering deliverables and initiating corrective measures as needed.
• Managing project changes, identifying potential crises, and creating contingency plans.
• Conducting quality control assessments and overseeing project handover.
• Providing regular project status updates to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Facilitating coordination among various parties—clients, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, design, sales, production, warehouse, site leader and purchasing teams to ensure a seamless project handover.
• Reviewing engineering drawings and collaborating with the design team to resolve any discrepancies.
• Carrying out additional tasks as assigned by the reporting manager.

Requirements:

• Fluency in reading, listening, and writingChineseandEnglishis aMUST to communicate with third parties and China headquarters personnel and handle documentation.
• Degree in engineering, architecture, or building science.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction (civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical, or electrical work) would be an advantage. Those without experience are also welcome
• Ability to understand technical drawings, specifications, and requirements.
• Proficient in MS Office and skilled in preparing PowerPoint presentations.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills for collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.
