Job summary

Randstad - Corporate seeks a Project Engineer specializing in Dynamic Positioning (DP) software. The role combines in-office engineering tasks with worldwide travel to commission DP systems on vessels. Training will be provided.

The position emphasizes collaboration with clients and head office teams to ensure successful pre-commissioning, installation, and testing of DP software in offshore environments.

Qualifications

• DP software expertise required or strongly preferred.
• Experience in the navy / shipbuilding industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of C/C++ programming is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Execute global on-board commissioning for DP software systems.
• Participate in system installations and testing phases (CAT, IAT, FAT).
• Produce and maintain project documentation such as design documents and procedures.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison between clients and head office on pre-commissioning, maintenance and operations.
• Collaborate with head office experts to improve product delivery.

The Role

As a Project Engineer, you will specialize in Dynamic Positioning (DP) software. Your time will be dynamically split between in-office engineering tasks and traveling worldwide to commission these systems on board vessels.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute global on-board commissioning for DP software systems.

• Participate in system installations and key testing phases, including Customer Acceptance Tests (CAT), Internal Acceptance Tests (IAT), and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).

• Produce and maintain essential project documentation, such as design documents and operational procedures.

• Serve as the primary technical liaison between clients and the main office regarding pre-commissioning, maintenance, and system operations.

• Collaborate with head office experts to innovate, improve, and effectively manage product delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybernetics, Control Engineering, Marine Technology, Electronics, Instrumentation, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Experience in the navy / shipbuilding industry is preferred.

• Knowledge of C/C++ programming is an advantage.

Training will be provided.
