Job summary

Honeywell is seeking a Project Engineer II in Singapore to manage and execute gas detection projects from design through commissioning. You will review blueprints, supervise installation, lead testing, and ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.

Ideal candidates have experience with F&G systems, sensor technologies, and field instrumentation, plus proficiency with PLC/SCADA, AutoCAD, and MS Project. On-site roles require strong problem-solving and coordination skills.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in project coordination with direct experience in gas detection, fire and gas (F&G) systems.
• Strong understanding of sensor technologies including electrochemical, catalytic bead, infrared and PID.
• Experience with PLC/SCADA systems and field installation work.

Responsibilities

• System Design & Implementation: review blueprints for gas detection layouts and sensor placement.
• Oversee Installation & Testing: supervise field installation, wiring, and integration of detectors and control panels.
• Testing & Commissioning: lead startup, functional testing and calibration of gas sensing equipment.
• Quality & Safety Compliance: ensure work meets contract, environmental rules, and safety standards (OSHA, IECEx, ATEX).
• Technical Troubleshooting: resolve issues with detectors, alarms, and control systems on site.
• Documentation: manage FAT, SAT, submittals, and operation manuals.

As a Project Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will manage and execute engineering projects, ensuring timely, budget-friendly, and quality completion.

Key Responsibilities:

System Design & Implementation: Review and interpret blueprints for gas detection layouts, ensuring correct sensor placement for toxic, flammable, or oxygen-depleting gases.

Oversee Installation & Testing: Supervise the field installation, wiring, and integration of gas detectors, control panels, and alarm systems.

Testing & Commissioning: Lead the startup, functional testing, and bumping/calibration of specialized gas sensing equipment.

Ensure Quality & Safety Compliance: Check that all work matches contract requirement, environmental rules, and industrial safety laws (e.g., OSHA, IECEx, ATEX).

Technical Troubleshooting: Fix complex issues with gas detector, false alarms, control system or communication bus protocols (like Modbus or Profibus) on site.

Document Management: Manage technical submittals, factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and operations manuals.

Proven track record in project coordination with direct experience in gas detection, fire and gas (F&G) systems, or industrial automation.

Technical Knowledge:

Strong understanding of electrochemical, catalytic bead, infrared, and photoionization detector (PID) sensor technologies.

Tools:

Familiarity with PLC/SCADA systems, AutoCAD, MS Project, and gas calibration tools.
