Job summary

LIAN HUAH ENGINEERING PTE LTD in Singapore seeks a Project Engineer to lead electrical installation projects from planning through completion, coordinating clients, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure safety, schedule, and quality.

The role requires a Diploma or higher in Electrical Engineering or Building Services, plus strong site coordination skills. Fresh graduates may apply; Mandarin is a plus for client communications.

• Experience managing electrical installation works in Singapore's construction industry is an added advantage.
• Experience delivering turnkey and A&A projects is a plus.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical installations and site coordination.
• Good organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or REVIT is advantageous.
• Willingness to work on project sites and adjust hours for milestones.
• English communication; Mandarin is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate site teams and subcontractors to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
• Monitor progress and resolve technical and site-related challenges.
• Manage budgets, costs, and monthly progress claims; support forecasting.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimisation while maintaining quality.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning; advise on equipment selection and installation methods.
• Train and hand over systems to clients at project completion.
• Represent the company in meetings with clients, consultants, and partners.
• Promote safety and quality across project sites; ensure WS H compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and site personnel; foster collaboration.

Your Impact

As a Project Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering electrical installation projects from planning through completion. Working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams, you’ll ensure every project is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Lead Successful Project Delivery

• Coordinate and supervise site teams and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications.
• Monitor project progress and proactively resolve technical and site-related challenges.

Drive Project Performance

• Manage project budgets, monitor costs, prepare monthly progress claims, and support financial forecasting.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimisation while maintaining quality and project objectives.

Be the Technical Expert

• Coordinate Testing & Commissioning activities to ensure systems perform as designed.
• Provide technical guidance on equipment selection, installation methodologies, and engineering solutions.
• Conduct operational training and system handovers for clients upon project completion.

Build Strong Client Relationships

• Represent the company confidently during technical discussions, progress meetings, and coordination meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Foster strong working relationships that contribute to successful project outcomes.

Promote Safety and Quality

• Work closely with the Safety team to implement and maintain Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) standards across project sites.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality requirements, and applicable safety procedures.

Support Team Success

• Mentor junior engineers and site personnel by sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
• Contribute to a collaborative, solution-focused working environment.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who has:

• A Diploma or higher academic achievement in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.
• Fresh graduate may apply too.
• Relevant experience managing electrical installation works within Singapore's construction industry is an added advantage.
• Experience in delivering turnkey and Addition & Alteration (A&A) projects is an added advantage).
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical installation works and practical site coordination experience.
• Good organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or REVIT will be an advantage.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic project environment.
• Willingness to work primarily on project sites and, where necessary, adjust working hours to support key project milestones.
• Strong work responsibility is an added advantage.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage where required to communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients, consultants, or trade partners during project execution.
