Job summary

Cartrack is seeking an on-site technical support specialist in Singapore. You will install, configure and maintain client systems, learn our product suite, and troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues at client sites.

The role involves working closely with engineering and support teams, providing clear client communications, and traveling to client locations as needed. Prior IoT and telematics exposure is valued.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Electrical & Electronic Engineering background is a plus.

Job description

• Provide on-site technical support to assigned clients and ensure smooth operation of our systems and solutions.
• Learn, understand and become proficient in the company’s products, systems, software and technical processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to system functionality, connectivity, hardware and software.
• Perform system configuration, testing, installation, maintenance and basic troubleshooting where required.
• Work closely with internal technical, engineering, product and support teams to investigate and resolve complex issues.
• Monitor system performance and identify potential technical issues before they impact client operations.
• Support system implementation, testing, deployment and project-related activities at the client’s site.
• Gather and analyse client requirements, technical issues and feedback, and communicate them clearly to relevant internal teams.
• Provide technical guidance and explanations to clients and end users when required.
• Maintain proper documentation of system configurations, technical issues, troubleshooting activities and solutions.
• Conduct basic user training and demonstrations on system functions where required.
• Participate in project meetings, site inspections, testing and other activities related to client projects.
• Ensure all assigned technical tasks are completed within the required timeline and in accordance with company standards.
• Perform other technical and project-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Candidates with an Electrical & Electronic Engineering background will have an added advantage.
• Strong interest in learning and supporting technical systems, software and technology solutions.
• Good understanding of basic software, hardware, networking and troubleshooting concepts.
• Ability to diagnose problems systematically and identify practical solutions.
• Comfortable working on-site at client locations and interacting directly with customers.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical matters clearly to non-technical users.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently while also collaborating effectively with internal teams.
• Fast learner with the ability to understand and adapt to new systems and technologies.
• Good attention to detail and strong sense of responsibility.
• Experience in technical support, application support, system implementation, project engineering or customer-facing technical roles will be an advantage.
• Experience with IoT, GPS/telematics, connected devices, vehicle technology or similar technology solutions will be an added advantage.
• Willingness to travel or work at client sites when required.
