Job summary

S & D Contractor Pte. Ltd. is seeking a capable professional to assist the Project Manager in coordinating management activities on site in Singapore.

You will attend external project kick-off meetings, meetings with consultants as well as technical and coordination meetings, daily project meetings and internal project closure meeting. This role involves assisting with shop drawings, risk assessments, and QA/QC records, with a strong emphasis on safety and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in coordinating construction projects.
• Ability to read structural drawings.
• Strong safety and QA/QC awareness.

Responsibilities

• Assists Project Manager in co-ordination of project management activities to ensure smooth execution.
• Attends external project kick-off meetings, consultants, and internal project meetings.
• Assists in shop drawings and submissions with Drafting Department.
• Assists in risk assessment and communication of risk to workers.
• Ensures safety induction and permits before work commencement.
• Follows safe work procedures and informs of any shortcoming.
• Ensures familiarity with project scope and progress reporting.
• Resolves site problems proactively and seeks guidance from the Project Manager.
• Coordinates daily activities of workers and monitors progress and safety.
• Supports cost control by reducing wastage and labour costs.
• Assists in Mass Tool Box meetings with safety personnel.

Job description

1. Assists Project Manager in the co-ordination of project management activities to ensure that projects are executed in a smooth and effective manner;

2. Attends external project kick-off meetings, meetings with consultants as well as technical and co-ordination meetings,daily project meetings and internal project closure meeting;

3. Assists Project Manager in carrying out all shop drawings and submission with Drafting Department;

4. Assists Project Manager in carrying out risk assessment and other risk management activities; makes recommendations on risk control measures; communicating risk assessment to all workers;

5. Ensures all contractors are safety inducted and issued with Permit before work commencement;

6. Ensures the adherence to the safe work procedure (SWP) established; to inform project manager or project director of any shortcoming in the SWP or risk control measures implemented;

7. Ensures the familiarization with the scope of works;

8. Resolves site problems proactively in a timely manner and seeks advice from Project Manager as appropriate;

9. Ensures the timely preparation of project progress and other reports;

10. Follows up on all aspects of QA/QC matters; records all defects works and ensure proper documentation;

11. Co-ordinates daily activities of workers’ duties and to ensure that they are performed in a proper manner;

12. Makes daily checks on work progress, housekeeping and safety implementation on site with safety personnel;

13. Assists in cost control by cutting materials wastage, reducing labour cost, usage of tools and equipment, etc;

14. Assists the Project Manager in conducting Mass Tool Box meeting with safety personnel;

15. Ensures proper project documentation including email communication;

16. Assists in promoting good team morale and team spirit in the project team;
