Job summary

SJ Group is seeking a qualified Resident Engineer for a civil engineering project in Singapore. You will assist the Project Management Team in project management, contract administration and site supervision, coordinating with on-site RE and RTO to ensure compliance with regulatory and client requirements.

The role involves collaborating with PM, QP(S), QP(D), client, contractors and local authorities, attending site meetings, reviewing submissions, preparing reports and minutes, and traveling

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by IES and eligible for registration as Resident Engineer.
• Prefer 5+ years in project management and geotechnical works; reclamation experience a plus.
• Strong analytical ability with excellent verbal and written communication.
• Team player with ability to multi-task; disciplined, self-motivated and resourceful.
• Willingness to travel to offshore island project sites.
• Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D or Plaxis advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Review Contractor’s submissions to ensure compliance with regulatory and Client's requirements.
• Prepare reports, track progress and follow up on site issues.
• Identify any non-conformance of Contractor's works on site and to follow up with Contractor to ensure rectification of non-conformance.

Job description

2. Requirements

• a) Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by IES that allows registration as Resident Engineer with IES.
• b) Preferably possess more than 5 years of working experience in project management and geotechnical works. Added advantage for work experience in reclamation works. Candidates that have less experience but keen in the scope are welcome to apply too
• c) Good analytical ability with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• d) Team player and able to multi-task
• e) Discipline, self-motivated and resourceful
• f) Willing to travel to an offshore island project site as required.
• g) Well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite of Software (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc)
• h) Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Plaxis etc will be advantageous
