Job summary

Surbana Jurong Consultants Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Civil Engineer with strong project management experience to support the Project Management Team in contract administration and on-site supervision for an offshore island reclamation project.

The candidate should hold a Civil Engineering degree recognized by IES, with 5+ years in project management and geotechnical works. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Plaxis, and MS Office is required; travel to offshore locations will be necessary.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by IES allowing registration as Resident Engineer.
• Preferably 5+ years in project management and geotechnical works; reclamation experience a plus.
• Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Management Team in Project Management, Contract Administration and Site Supervision.
• Coordinate with Resident Engineers and Resident Technical Officers on site to ensure regulatory and client requirements are met.
• Collaborate with Project Management Team, QP(S), QP(D), Client, Contractors and local authorities for timely project completion.
• Attend site progress meetings and inspections to resolve on-site issues.
• Prepare presentations and drafts for meetings; review Contractor submissions for compliance.
• Prepare reports, track progress and follow up on site issues; identify non-conformances and ensure rectification.

Job description

1. Responsibilities

a. Assist Project Management Team in Project Management, Contract Administration and Site Supervision.

b. Coordinate with a team of Resident Engineers (RE) and Resident Technical Officers (RTO) on site to ensure that all works comply fully with regulatory and Client's requirements.

c. Work closely with Project Management Team, QP(S), QP(D), Client, Contractors and local Authorities to ensure successful and timely completion of the project.

d. Attend regular site progress meetings and site inspections to resolve site issues.

e. Prepare presentation and draft minutes for meetings.

f. Review Contractor’s submissions to ensure compliance with regulatory and Client's requirements.

g. Prepare reports, track progress and follow up on site issues.

h. Identify any non-conformance of Contractor's works on site and to follow up with Contractor to ensure rectification of non-conformance.

2. Requirements

a) Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by IES that allows registration as Resident Engineer with IES.

b) Preferably possess more than 5 years of working experience in project management and geotechnical works. Added advantage for work experience in reclamation works. Candidates that have less experience but keen in the scope are welcome to apply too

c) Good analytical ability with strong verbal and written communication skills.

d) Team player and able to multi-task

e) Discipline, self-motivated and resourceful

f) Willing to travel to an offshore island project site as required.

g) Well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite of Software (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc)

h) Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Plaxis etc will be advantageous
