Job summary

Trust Recruit Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks a civil engineer with 1–3 years of hands-on experience to interpret complex drawings, coordinate with consultants, and develop safe, efficient construction methods. The role includes preparing short-term programmes, addressing technical queries, and contributing to value engineering and standardisation efforts.

The candidate will support the Project Manager, manage RFI/RFA processes, and help ensure design decisions are documented and implemented on site.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil) or equivalent, with 1–3 years of Singapore-based experience.

Responsibilities

  • Study and interpret structural, architectural, and M&E drawings in detail, identifying coordination gaps and design clashes before work commences on site.
  • Develop method statements and work sequences for complex structural and architectural works to ensure safe, sound, and efficient construction.
  • Prepare and maintain short-term construction programmes tied to the master programme, identifying critical paths and proposing recovery measures when milestones are at risk.
  • Coordinate with consultants and the design team on technical queries, managing the RFA/RFI process to achieve timely design decisions.
  • Identify technical challenges on site and propose practical, engineered solutions rather than waiting for instructions.
  • Support the Project Manager in preparing and responding to technical submissions, including temporary works designs.
  • Contribute to value engineering exercises to reduce cost, improve buildability, or shorten the programme without compromising safety or design intent.
  • Identify opportunities for standardisation, prefabrication, or DfMA approaches to improve productivity and reduce waste.
  • Document successful engineering solutions for post-project reviews and lessons learned.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil) or equivalent

  • Prepare and maintain short-term constructionprogrammes tied to the master programme, identifying critical path activitiesand proposing recovery measures when milestones are at risk
  • Coordinate with consultants and the design teamon technical queries, managing the RFA/ RFI process to achieve timely anddocumented design decisions
  • Identify technical challenges on site — whetherrelated to ground conditions, structural interfaces, sequencing conflicts, ormaterial constraints — and propose practical, engineered solutions rather thanwaiting for instructions
  • Support the Project Manager in preparing andresponding to technical submissions, including temporary works designs
  • Actively participate in value engineeringexercises during the pre-construction and construction phases, contributingideas that reduce cost, improve buildability, or shorten the programme withoutcompromising structural integrity, safety, or design intent
  • Identify repetitive construction operationswhere standardisation, prefabrication, or DfMA (Design for Manufacturing andAssembly) approaches can improve productivity and reduce waste
  • Contribute to post-project reviews bydocumenting successful engineering solutions and lessons learned forapplication in future projects
  • Ensure all temporary works — includingfalsework, formwork, shoring, and excavation support — are designed, checked,and approved by a competent person
  • Participate actively in weekly safetyinspections and toolbox meetings, reinforcing a culture where safety andquality are non-negotiable at every level of the team

Qualification

  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree/professional Degree in Engineering (Civil) or equivalent, 1 to 3 years of working experience in Singapore, in the related field is required for this position.
