Job summary

Penta Ocean Construction seeks a senior planning and project controls professional to lead 4D BIM scheduling, link time data to 3D models, and optimize construction sequences across major civil/building projects in Singapore.

You will develop baseline, working, and recovery programs, manage documentation, automate reporting with Power BI, and drive AI-enabled forecasting with the planning team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in Civil/Building projects.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and 4D is mandatory.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional coordination capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation, maintenance, and analysis of 4D BIM schedules linked to 3D models to visualize sequences and optimize logistics.
• Develop comprehensive baseline, working, and recovery programs (CPM) for complex projects ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
• Provide regular progress updates and manage planning documentation, reports, and Change Log.
• Review and standardize project documentation and reporting processes; maintain lessons learned repository.
• Conduct schedule analyses to identify bottlenecks and risks; present executive summaries to management.
• Collaborate on automating reporting and data collection (e.g., P6 data with Power BI or APIs).
• Evaluate and adopt new PM platforms and 4D/5D BIM tools to improve efficiency.

Job description

Main Accountability:

Lead the creation, maintenance, and analysis of 4D BIM schedules, linking time data directly to 3D models to visually simulate construction sequences, identify clashes, and optimize logistics.

Develop Programs and regular progress updates

• Develop comprehensive, logic-linked baseline schedules (CPM) for complex civil works tenders and active projects using Primavera P6 or Synchro 4D Pro.
• Develop programs such as Baseline Program, Working Program, Recovery Program, etc., ensuring full compliance with contract requirements.
• Carry out regular progress updates and review comprehensive management reports produced by the planning team.
• Establish and enforce standards for project documentation, including planning documents, schedule updates, and progress reports.
• Record and maintain management process and Program Change Log.
• Conduct complex schedule analyses and program updates, translating data into strategic reports for executive management.
• Maintain the Change matrix, evaluating variations, claims, and other significant project events.

Process Automation:

Identify process and or areas of improvement, conceptualize, evaluate and implement solutions to automate project reporting, data collection, and dashboard creation (e.g., integrating P6 data with Power BI or custom APIs).

Software review:

Review, test, and evaluate emerging project management platforms, 4D/5DBIM software, and site tracking tools to improve company-wide efficiency.

AI Adoption:

Collaborate and drive the adoption of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning tools within project controls (e.g., predictive analytics for scheduling, automated progress tracking).

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

• Generate comprehensive progress reports and present executive summaries to senior management and clients.
• Produce documents Daily, Weekly, and Monthly reporting submissions.
• Conduct regular high-level schedule risk analyses to identify systemic bottlenecks and strategic risks across projects.

Documentation and Lessons Learned:

Drive a culture of continuous improvement by maintaining an extensive historical database and lessons learned registry for process improvements and future bids.

Job Requirements

Technical Expertise:

Strong understanding and strategic application of construction industry standards and project control principles.

Planning Software Proficiency:

Expertise in project management software like Primavera P6, 4D, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.

Analytical Skills:

Exceptional ability to analyze complex data, identify macro-level trends, solve critical problems, and make strategic executive decisions.

Communication Skills:

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills to effectively negotiate and convey strategic information to diverse stakeholders, including clients and executive boards.

A strong team player with excellent communication skills.

Leadership Abilities:

Proven ability to manage, lead, and coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve broader project goals.

Relevant Experience:

• Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in Civil/Building projects, with significant experience in managerial or leadership role.
• Proficiency in PrimaveraP6 and 4D is mandatory.
• Good knowledge of construction methodologies, commercial claims, EOT protocols, and complex construction sequencing.
• Proven track record in project planning and scheduling for large-scale, complex projects or mega-projects.

Education:

• Diploma / Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
