Job summary

Legrand Group in Tuas, Singapore, is seeking a Production Technician to support daily manufacturing operations and drive continuous improvement while assembling prototypes per engineering designs.

You will review BOMs, coordinate with Production for material and routing, and maintain documentation to ensure quality and ISO alignment. A Diploma in engineering plus 2–3 years in manufacturing are expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering/Manufacturing or equivalent.
• Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in manufacturing industry.
• Experience in a lean manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide first level troubleshooting and resolve production stoppages to achieve smooth process flow in production lines.
• Support Manufacturing Engineer in continuous improvement and optimization projects/activities.
• Lead and coordinate prototype build requests for completeness and scheduling.
• Build and assemble prototype products according to design requirements.
• Review manufacturing documents and system accuracy – BOM, ERP system prior to production release.
• Coordinate with Production to identify correct material and routing.
• Ensure proper material usage and compliance with material issuing procedures.
• Submit engineering change notices for erroneous BOMs and engineering documents.

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Production Technician to join the Power & Thermal Management division in Tuas, Singapore.

Supports daily manufacturing operations, drive continuous improvement initiatives, assemble first-article prototypes based on preliminary engineering designs, and maintains critical production data to optimize efficiency and product quality.

Main Job Duties

• Provide first level troubleshooting and resolve production stoppages to achieve smooth process flow in production lines
• Support Manufacturing Engineer in continuous improvement and optimization projects/activities
• Lead and coordinate prototype build requests for completeness and scheduling.
• Build and assemble prototype products according to design requirements.
• Review manufacturing documents and system accuracy - bill of materials BOM, ERP system prior to production release
• Coordinate with Production to identify correct material and routing
• Ensure proper material usage and compliance with material issuing procedures.
• Complete inspection of engineering assembly drawing to BOM accuracy
• Submit engineering change notices for erroneous BOMs and engineering documents
• Create and maintain work instructions for completed prototypes.
• Ensure products meet Legrand standards and initiate corrective actions when required.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Planning, Product Engineering, Quality, Production teams regarding design-for-assembly/manufacturing concerns.
• Communicate product, quality, and safety information effectively and provide updates on prototype requests and status emails.
• Maintain the proper documentation & filing system in his work areas to comply with the record retention policy
• Adhere to all company policies, guidelines, and practices.
• Support operational procedures compliant to ISO 90-015
• Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or manager

Education

• NiTEC/Diploma in Engineering/Manufacturing or equivalent
• Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in manufacturing industry
• Experience in a lean manufacturing environment preferred

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Maintain expert knowledge of the production processes throughout the product families
• Ability to run reports and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and wiring schematics.
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
• Knowledge of standard wiring practices and wire management.
• Familiar with production methods specific to electromechanical assembly
• Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with cross-functional departments
• Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to use Dispatch, Syteline, Cloud Suite, and related systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• This position will have exposure to the manufacturing areas where, under certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection are required
• Ability to stand, bend and walk for extended periods of time
• Able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently
