A leading IT services firm is seeking a Database Administrator in Singapore. The role involves providing support for MSSQL, Sybase, Hadoop, and Elastic Cloud Enterprise. Job description

Responsibilities

• Database Production Support for MSSQL, Sybase, Hadoop & Elastic Cloud Enterprise.
• Owing, tracking and resolving database related incident and requests during Asia FTSS support hours for production and non-production servers
• Performance Tuning, Troubleshooting, Planning/execution DB Migration and upgrades
• Contribute 24 x 7 support of the production environment on a follow the sun and rotational basis.
• Willing to work in the weekend and non-office hours.

Job Requirements

• Degree or above in Computer Studies / Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant working experience in IT industry
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Database Administration in MSSQL (2008, 2008R2, 2014, 2017, 2019), SAP ASE (12.x, 15.x, 16.x), Sybase IQ (15.x, 16.x).
• Hands on experience in MSSQL SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Always On replication, and Sybase Replication
• Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Excellent knowledge on Windows and Linux platform
• Should have exposure on Clustering using VCS, and native red hat clustering
• Excellent communication skills are mandatory, as are good tact and diplomacy, as the role requires constant communication with many individuals and teams within Nomura
• Experience in setup and troubleshoot the database replication that includes the AG for MSSQL, and Sybase ASE replication server.
• Familiarity with Hadoop ecosystem and its components. Experience with MapR distribution will be advantage.
• Experience with managing Elastic Cloud Enterprise (ECE) and Knowledge of Elastic ELK/ XPACK.
• Experience in Delphix is a plus
• Proficient in Python programming and/or other shell programming is an advantage
• Experience in GitLab and Ansible Tower or other automation tools.
• Willing to learn and able to adapt to different technologies
• Excellent analytical and problem- solving skills.
