Job summary

JEP Precision Engineering Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a Production Planner to plan and coordinate production schedules based on orders, capacity, and delivery needs.

You will collaborate with Production, Sales and Quality teams to ensure schedules are achievable, monitor progress and material availability, and manage purchasing and supplier coordination to support timely delivery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum GCE O-Level or equivalent; Diploma in Mechanical/Precision Engineering preferred.
• A few years of experience in production planning, purchasing or manufacturing.
• Experience in precision engineering or machining environments is advantageous.
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Proficient in Excel; ERP/MRP systems knowledge beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Follow up with suppliers on outstanding orders and expedite when needed.
• Maintain purchasing and inventory records and delivery dates.
• Coordinate with store and production on material receiving and availability.
• Perform other production planning and purchasing duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule production based on customer orders, delivery requirements, and available machine capacity.

• Coordinate with Production, Sales, and Quality teams to ensure production schedules are achievable and delivery commitments are met.

• Monitor production progress and follow up on delays, material shortages, and other issues affecting delivery.

• Prepare and maintain production schedules, work orders and related planning records.

• Review material requirements and raise purchase orders for raw materials, tooling, consumables, and other production-related items.

• Source and liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations, negotiate prices, and follow up on delivery schedules.

• Monitor material availability and ensure materials are purchased in time to support production requirements.

• Follow up with suppliers on outstanding orders and expedite urgent materials when required.

• Maintain purchasing and inventory records, including purchase orders, delivery dates, and outstanding items.

• Monitor inventory levels to avoid material shortages or excessive stock.

• Coordinate with the store and production teams on material receiving and availability.

• Perform other production planning and purchasing duties as assigned.
  

Requirements

• Minimum GCE O-Level, Higher Nitec or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Precision Engineering or equivalent.

• Preferably with a few years of relevant experience in production planning, purchasing, or manufacturing.

• Experience in a precision engineering, machining or manufacturing environment will be an advantage.

• Basic understanding of machining processes, materials, and production requirements.

• Able to read and understand engineering drawings.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

• Experience with ERP/MRP systems will be an advantage.

• Good communication, coordination and follow-up skills.

• Meticulous, organised and able to work independently.
