Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. is seeking an experienced Production Planner to optimize schedules, ensure material availability, and drive improvements across manufacturing networks.

The role collaborates with Sales Ops, Procurement, Production, and Engineering to meet shipment commitments and maintain optimal inventory levels. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in production planning, strong SAP and Excel skills, and proven cross‑functional collaboration abilities to support continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of production planning experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, inventory management, and SAP systems.
  • Experience coordinating with Master Scheduling, Procurement and Production teams.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Sales Ops, Procurement, Production, Warehouse, and Engineering teams to optimize production schedules, capacity and ensure material availability to meet shipment commitment.
  • Monitor production performance, identify risks such as material shortages or capacity constraints, and drive timely recovery actions.
  • Manage inventory to maintain optimal stock levels while supporting production and customer delivery requirements.
  • Coordinate engineering changes, New Product Introduction (NPI), and schedule adjustments to minimize operational impact.
  • Prepare and communicate daily production status updates and weekly production and inventory reports to management.
  • Analyze planning and inventory data to improve production efficiency, delivery performance, and inventory health.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support cross-functional projects to enhance planning processes.
Required Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in production planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, manufacturing processes, inventory management, SAP systems, and material planning.
  • Proven experience working closely with Master Scheduling, Procurement, and Production teams to execute production plans.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills with the ability to analyze data and prepare management reports.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, communication, and cross functional collaboration skills.
