Job summary

MURATA ELECTRONICS SINGAPORE (PTE) LTD is seeking a Material Planner based in Singapore, Tuas. You will take charge of material planning aligned with the production plan to ensure sufficient supply and minimize production disruption.

Responsibilities include forecasting consumption, coordinating with suppliers, and maintaining stock levels while working closely with HQ planning, MES production, procurement and process engineering to support on-time delivery to customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering or related field.
• Proficient in Excel, SQL and Power BI for planning and analytics.
• Programming knowledge in Python and VBA is advantageous.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Able to work well in a team and take initiative.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Department: Production Control

Reports to: Senior Executive

Functional Relationships with: HQ planning, MES production, Procurement, Process Engineering, Quality Control, Logistic and Business Engineering members

Position Profile: Based in: Singapore,

Job Site: Tuas

The successful candidate will take charge of (with focus but not limited) material planning in accordance with production plan to ensure sufficient material supply. Due to the uncertainty of the demand changes, he/she is required to build relationship with the supply chain personals, analyse the risk and take timely measures to minimize the impact on production.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Simulate material consumption and make material forecast or production plan and monitor incoming or production output to prevent downstream production line stoppage.
• Work closely with internal stakeholder and production division to prepare necessary resources and ensure supply of material on time.
• Manage production input and output, or coordinate supplier delivery schedules based on submitted forecasts to maintain optimal stock levels, proactively manage risks to meet customer delivery requirements.
• Monitor and manage appropriate resources availability improvement to prevent stoppage or minimal interruption to production schedule and capability up to ensure production continuity.
• Maintain production control system to have smooth & efficient operation.
• Identify problems and opportunities for business process improvement solution.
• Work in a customer-driven and service-oriented environment.
• Communicative, analytical, and creative team player who can address internal and external issues effectively.

Ability / Competency Required

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, engineering or a related discipline
• Proficient in Excel, SQL query, and PBI.
• Programming knowledge in Python, VBA and digital tools in supply chain management will be advantageous.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Able to work well as a team player while being independent and pro-active.
