Job summary

Recruit Express Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor for its aerospace MRO production unit in Singapore. You will lead daily manufacturing activities to optimise cost, delivery performance and quality, while ensuring compliance with job instructions and technical data.

You will plan manpower, assign tasks, monitor efficiency, drive lean initiatives, and develop standards with a culturally diverse team to meet production targets.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering (any discipline).
• At least 5 years in Aerospace MRO.
• Hands-on shop environment experience with managing a diverse team.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate teams to meet goals.
• Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage the production unit to optimise cost and delivery performance.
• Control and optimise use of all resources to produce parts with best turn time, quality and cost.
• Plan day-to-day operations, assign manpower, plan overtime, monitor utilization and efficiency.
• Ensure key metrics are achieved.
• Ensure products are repaired/processed to specifications and data to meet quality.
• Provide hands-on support to process parts and establish standard work for key processes.
• Assist in establishing standard hours and track performance, productivity and utilization.
• Plan manpower requirements and training to maintain skilled workforce and maintain quality.
• Implement on-the-job training (OJT) programs and schedule activities.
• Develop and review competency-based assessments.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions for quality and internal controls.
• Interface with various functions for problem solving to achieve goals.
• Ensure safety and internal controls are followed while meeting production objectives.
• Drive lean initiatives and setup reduction.
• Lead continuous improvement projects as required.
• Demonstrate EH&S commitment and compliance with regulations.
• Ensure production equipment is maintained per plan and schedule.
• Coordinate with Materials to ensure adequate materials for production.
• Work with Customer Service to align schedules with customer priorities.
• Assist in hiring, training, performance appraisal, salary adjustments, promotions and employee relations of direct reports.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage the production unit to ensure the optimal cost and delivery performance of the unit.
• Control and optimize use of all resources available to produce parts with the best turn time, best quality and lowest cost possible.
• Plan day-to-day operations, assign manpower, plan overtime, monitor and measure employee utilization and efficiency.
• Ensure key metrics are achieved.
• Ensure that products are repaired or processed to the required specifications and governing job instructions and other technical data to meet quality compliance.
• Provide hands-on support to process parts and establish good standard work for key processes.
• Assist in establishing standard hours, and track performance and productivity, efficiency and utilization to meet targets.
• Assist to plan manpower requirements and training to maintain a skilled workforce to improve productivity, and ensure that quality of parts repaired or coated are not compromised.
• Implement on-the-job training programs and schedule the required OJT activities to meet the training plan.
• Develop and review competency-based assessments.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve and address any quality problems and operations internal controls.
• Interface with the various business functions in problems solving, and to achieve goals and objectives.
• Ensure that safety and internal controls are followed when working towards production objectives.
• Continuously improve work methods and drive set up reduction and mistake-proofing and other lean initiatives.
• Formulate and lead continuous improvement projects as required.
• Demonstrate personal commitment to EH&S by meeting all EH&S legislation and regulations, and driving EH&S compliance and correcting every unsafe situation.
• Ensure that all production equipment is properly maintained according to the plan and schedules.
• Liaise with Materials Department to ensure that adequate materials are made available to the shop to support production.
• Work closely with the Customer Service team to plan and execute schedules with customer priorities and requirements in mind to achieve customer satisfaction.
• Assist in hiring, training, career development, performance appraisal, salary adjustments, promotion, discipline, health, safety and the general employee relations of direct reports.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in any Engineering discipline.
• At least 5 years of working experience in an Aerospace MRO industry.
• Extensive hands-on working experience in a shop environment and managing a culturally diversified team.
• Proven ability to manage and motivate teams to achieve business goals.
• Demonstrated problem solving and leadership skills.
• Knowledge and implementation of lean manufacturing and drive continuous improvement.
