Job summary

Soitec Microelectronics Singapore Pte. Ltd. seeks a Technician to ensure quality and timely output of production equipment and processes. You will manage equipment performance, process stability, safety, and housekeeping to support smooth manufacturing operations and deliver high-quality products.

The role requires advanced technical skills in equipment operation, process monitoring, and troubleshooting to optimize lab production activities and maintain cleanroom standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Chemical or Science Discipline (entry-level).
• Higher NITEC with 4+ years relevant experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Advance knowledge of cleanroom environment/protocol.
• Basic process and equipment knowledge.
• Calibration and maintenance of equipment and records.
• Labelling/preparation of QC standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment in assigned area.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment to manufacture high quality products.
• Execute operations according to SOP and prevent NC to avoid wafer scrap.
• Monitor and expedite production lots and WIP to meet daily plan outputs.
• Follow basic tool process stability and qualify tools post-maintenance.
• Perform routine control checks and ensure area cleanliness (5S).
• Lead training for Manufacturing Assistants up to Level 2 and certify MA.
• Track shift events and maintain inventory records.
• Propose and follow SOPs; ensure compliance with policies.
• Support cost reduction and participate in improvement activities.
• Uphold safety protocols and report incidents or near misses.

Job description

This role is responsible for ensuring the quality and timely output of production equipment and processes. You manage equipment performance, process stability, safety, and housekeeping to support smooth manufacturing operations and deliver high-quality products. This role requires advanced technical skills in equipment operation, process monitoring, and troubleshooting to optimize lab production activities.

Areas of Responsibility

1. Quality of Production Equipment

   • Operate production equipment in assigned area.

   • Maintain and calibrate equipment to manufacture high quality products.

2. Quality and Quantity of Output

   • Execute operations according to SOP and actively do Non-Conformance (NC) prevention in order to ensure no non-conformance and wafer scrap.

3. On-time Delivery

   • Monitor and expedite all production lots, WIP control in the production line.

   • Plan for output according to MMP requirements to achieve minimum cycle time and meet the daily plan outputs to meet customers’ demand.

4. Basic Process Stability

   • Monitor basic tool process stability in 1 process group.

   • Able to follow a sequence of qualifications to put tool back into production after maintenance / sustaining intervention to sustain and improve on the overall quality of wafers produced.

5. Quality

   • Perform routine control checks.

   • Follow up with necessary corrective actions.

   • Ensure assigned area cleanliness and within 5S standards.

   • Ensure production equipment is in good working condition.

   • Ensure all new / changes to SOP are implemented and followed to ensure the quality of products and services.

6. Training and Manpower Planning

   • Training of Manufacturing Assistants (MA) up to Level 2 (Advance) and be a certifier for MAs up to Level 2 (Mastery).

   • Manpower planning of assigned area to ensure smooth production operations to ensure the quality and quantity of manpower operating the equipment.

7. Records and Reports

   • Track and record all shift related events and activities.

   • Maintain inventory records in proper locations to conform to requirements.

8. Documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

   • Propose improvements to SOP.

   • Perform duties in accordance with SOP.

   • Perform advance SiView access as per SOP to ensure compliance with policies and internal guidelines.

9. Cost Efficiency

   • Assist in cost reduction activities to achieve cost efficiency and effectiveness.

10. Improvement

    • Participate in improvement activities and training assigned.

    • Able to lead and present QITs to improve the overall standard of work.

11. Safety

    • Always adopt preventive behavior.

    • Systematically respect the workplace safety rules, especially in handling chemicals.

    • Take the time to analyze the risks before acting.

    • To react if witnessing a dangerous situation or behavior.

    • To alert any accident, incident and near miss.

Educational Qualifications

• Diploma in Chemical or Science Discipline or related field – Entry-level candidate

• Higher NITEC - Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.

Technical / Job Knowledge

• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

• Advance knowledge of cleanroom environment / protocol.

• Basic process and equipment knowledge.

• Basic calibration and maintenance of equipment and their records.

• Preparation / labelling of standards / QC assay.

• Experience in ICP-MS equipment usage (e.g., PerkinElmer, ThermoFischer, Agilent, etc.).

• Experience in troubleshooting, analytical, and organizational skills.

• Have relevant experience in lab settings.

Personal Capabilities

• Good communication skills, good team player and leader.

Working Conditions

• Work performed in class 10 to class 1,000 clean room environments.

• Willing to work on day / night 12-hour shifts, weekend work and public holidays.

• Wiling to work overtime, when production demands required.

• Abide to all clean room and chemical lab safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, ESD protection and contamination control procedures.
