Job summary

Grand Venture Technology Private Limited is seeking an experienced Production Engineer to drive machining process improvements and support daily production issues. The role focuses on improving cycle times, tooling efficiency, and machine utilisation while coordinating with operators to optimise shopfloor performance.

The candidate should have 3–5 years in precision engineering, be proficient with SolidWorks/MasterCAM/HyperMill, and able to lead CI and Six Sigma initiatives to boost productivity

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Precision Machining or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in a precision engineering environment.
• Familiar with milling, turning, lathes, grinding and sheetmetal operations.
• Familiar with metal fabrication processes like welding and surface treatment.
• Proficient in SolidWorks, MasterCAM or HyperMill.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and eager to learn new software.
• Troubleshooting and problem solving on manufacturing processes.
• Good working attitude, disciplined and systematic.

Responsibilities

• Drive machining process improvements to optimise cycle time, tooling, setup, quality and costs.
• Provide hands-on technical support to resolve daily production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Own Mazak machining processes, tooling, fixtures, process control and job loading coordination.
• Collaborate with shopfloor operators for process optimisation.
• Design and improve machining fixtures; coordinate fabrication and validation.
• Lead CI and Six Sigma projects targeting productivity, quality, waste reduction and setup time.
• Analyse ERP data to identify performance gaps and drive data-driven improvements.
• Coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality and Engineering for smooth production.

Job description

Responsible for providing hands-on engineering support, resolving daily production issues, and driving continuous improvement in machining processes, tooling, fixtures, and machine utilisation to enhance productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Process Improvement & Optimisation

• Drive machining process improvements to optimise cycle time, tooling, setup efficiency, process stability, quality, and manufacturing costs.

2. Production Engineering Support

• Provide hands-on technical support to resolve daily production issues, troubleshoot machining problems, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Take ownership of Mazak machining processes, tooling, fixtures, process control, and job loading coordination to optimise machine utilisation and production output. Work closely with operators on shopfloor process optimisation.

4. Fixture Design & Development

• Design and improve machining fixtures, coordinate fabrication, and follow up on testing, validation, and implementation.
• Lead and follow up on CI and Six Sigma projects focusing on productivity, quality, waste reduction, setup time, and manufacturing efficiency.

6. ERP Data Analysis & Performance Improvement

• Analyse ERP production data to identify performance gaps, process inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities. Drive data-driven corrective actions and CI initiatives.

7. Cross-functional Coordination

• Collaborate with Production, Planning, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve operational issues and ensure smooth production execution.

Requirements:

• Diploma / Degree in Precision Machining or Mechanical Engineering
• At least 3 - 5 years of working experience in precision engineering environment
• Familiar with machining process (milling, turning, Lathes, grinding, Sheetmetal operation) would be added advantage
• Familiar with metal fabrication processes like welding, sheetmetal work, surface treatment etc
• Proficient in Mechanical software (Solidwork, MasterCAM or HyperMill)
• Knowledge in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new software applications
• Troubleshoot and problems solving skills on manufacturing process
