Job summary

Winston Fox is seeking a Production and Observability Engineer with 2+ years of relevant experience to join a world‑class hedge fund’s Production Engineering team in Singapore. The role spans engineering, monitoring, and VIP support within a fast-paced, distributed trading environment.

You will build automation and CI/CD tooling, primarily in Python, with Go, PowerShell and SQL. You’ll work on system observability, production operations, and incident management with a bias for action.

Qualifications

  • Genuine interest in modern engineering practices, including leveraging emerging technologies and AI-driven tooling to enhance reliability, automation and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills, confident in explaining technical concepts to non-experts. Have a strong understanding of the open-source observability ecosystem for microservices (e.g. LGTM stack, OpenTelemetry) and related tooling.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a large, complex technical landscape, with both modern and legacy systems written in multiple languages.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, with high proficiency in at least one modern programming language and confidence in CI/CD tooling and release automation.
  • Working knowledge in data and related technologies (SQL, Snowflake, Elasticsearch, S3).
  • Demonstrated experience in debugging distributed applications across hybrid cloud environments.
  • Demonstrated bias for action, strong sense of agency and accountability, with the ability to operate effectively in fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

  • Build Automation, CI/CD Pipelines and scalable tooling, primarily in Python with Go, PowerShell and SQL.
  • Hands-on System Observability using metrics, logs and traces, and Production Operations management.
  • Lead incidents and support trading systems in a fast-paced, high-availability environment.
  • Provide VIP end-user and hardware support within a hybrid cloud and on-prem setup.

Job description

Production and Observability Engineer with 2+ years of relevant experience sought to join one of the World’s top Hedge Funds, renowned for Innovation and Massive-Scale Distributed Systems.

This is a new for someone to join a local team of four, as part of a firmwide Production Engineering team of ten. You will work in fast-paced, white-glove Trading & Investment environment in a highly varied role with a focus of around 50% Engineering & Projects, 25% Monitoring & Observability, and 25% VIP End User & Hardware Support.

Engineering and Projects will include building Automation, CI/CD Pipelines, and scalable Tooling, primarily in Python but also with PowerShell, Go, and SQL. You will also be hands-on with System Observability, leveraging Metrics, Logs and Traces – and Production Operations, leading incidents, supporting trading systems, and debugging complex issues.
