Job summary

Michael Page Singapore is seeking a senior real-time oversight lead for automated global equity strategies. You will oversee real-time monitoring, coordinate incident responses, and guide platform changes within a leading quant environment.

The role requires 8+ years in live systematic or electronic trading operations, deep knowledge of automated trading ecosystems, and hands-on Linux/UNIX with Python for analysis and automation. Strong collaboration with traders and tech teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience supporting or managing live systematic, algorithmic, or electronic trading operations in equities.
• Strong understanding of automated trading ecosystems, order management workflows, execution infrastructure, and trading risk controls.
• Hands-on experience with Linux/UNIX and Python for operational analysis, troubleshooting, and workflow automation.
• Knowledge of equity market microstructure, exchange models, and market conduct requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee real-time monitoring of automated trading strategies, positions, execution quality, and trading infrastructure health.
• Escalation point for trading incidents; diagnose issues and coordinate responses with technology and research teams.
• Exercise authority during exceptional trading situations, including interruptions, risk containment actions, and portfolio liquidation when required.

• Drive improvements to surveillance and monitoring frameworks through post-incident reviews.
• Maintain relationships with brokers, exchanges, prime brokers, and external market participants to resolve operational matters.
• Ensure adherence to market integrity standards by detecting and preventing conduct risks.

Job Description

• Oversee real-time monitoring of automated trading strategies, positions, execution quality, and trading infrastructure health.
• Act as the primary point of escalation for trading incidents, rapidly diagnosing issues and coordinating responses with technology and research teams.
• Exercise authority during exceptional trading situations, including trading interruptions, risk containment actions, and portfolio liquidation decisions when required.
• Manage production releases, change controls, trading system configurations, and operational workflows to support uninterrupted market access.
• Drive continuous improvements to trading surveillance, monitoring frameworks, and operational tooling through structured post-incident reviews.
• Maintain close relationships with brokers, exchanges, prime brokerage counterparts, and external market participants to resolve operational and execution-related matters.
• Ensure adherence to market integrity standards by detecting and preventing behaviours that could create trading, compliance, or market conduct risks.

The Successful Applicant

• 8+ years of experience supporting or managing live systematic, algorithmic, quantitative, or electronic trading operations within equities markets.
• Strong understanding of automated trading ecosystems, order management workflows, execution infrastructure, and trading risk controls.
• Deep knowledge of equity market microstructure, exchange operating models, alternative trading venues, and electronic execution practices.
• Proven experience handling critical trading incidents and making high-impact risk decisions under pressure.
• Strong understanding of trading compliance, surveillance controls, and market conduct requirements.
• Hands-on experience working within Linux/UNIX environments and utilising Python for operational analysis, troubleshooting, and workflow automation.
• Familiarity with FIX protocol messaging, order lifecycle management, and production deployment processes.
• Ability to work effectively with traders, quantitative researchers, technology teams, brokers, and external market participants.
