Job summary

Mistral is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to join the Proto team. You will design and deliver robust, production-grade AI systems in rapid development cycles, balancing client-facing and internal projects to drive measurable value.

You will translate complex business requirements into engineered solutions, guiding technical decisions and collaborating with internal teams and customers to shape product direction.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years building and deploying production AI products or systems.
• Strong experience with GenAI stacks and architecture.
• Proficient in Python with scalable backend frameworks like FastAPI.
• Familiar with frontend frameworks such as React or Vue.
• Able to translate business needs into technical plans and communicate with stakeholders.
• Collaborates effectively across teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end full-stack AI solutions from scoping through deployment.
• Partner with customers to clarify needs, define requirements, and architect robust systems.
• Ship ready-to-use applications for clients and internal teams.
• Lead architecture and technical decisions, ensuring scalable, reliable solutions.
• Diagnose and solve complex technical problems across various industries and use cases.
• Contribute to internal tools, product improvements, and open-source initiatives.
• Evaluate and integrate new technology capabilities into existing systems.
