Job summary

Flex in Singapore is seeking a Senior Engineer / Staff Engineer to lead VA/VE initiatives and drive sustaining engineering across the product lifecycle in a manufacturing environment. The role collaborates with Engineering, Quality, Operations and Supply Chain to deliver cost reductions, DFx improvements, CAPA excellence, and supplier development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Engineering is required.
• Experience in both product design and manufacturing environments is preferred.
• Strong knowledge in VA/VE, DFM/ DFA, risk management is desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead VA/VE initiatives to improve product performance, reliability and cost.
• Drive sustaining engineering including lifecycle management and obsolescence mitigation.
• Manage advanced sourcing and supplier development to enhance quality and cost.
• Conduct failure analysis and RCAs; implement CAPA.
• Apply DFM and DFA principles to optimize design and manufacturing.
• Lead risk management through FMEA and process controls.
• Drive continuous improvement for quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
• Deliver cost reduction and lifecycle management in regulated manufacturing environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, quality, operations, and supply chain.

Preferred Experience

• Candidates with experience in both Product Design & Development and Manufacturing Engineering environments will be highly preferred.
• Experience in Medical Device Manufacturing or Industrial Product Manufacturing is strongly preferred.
• Strong expertise in both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, with demonstrated success in driving product excellence throughout the product lifecycle.

Job Description

• Lead Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives to improve product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost competitiveness.
• Drive Sustaining Engineering activities, including product enhancements, design changes, lifecycle management, and obsolescence mitigation.
• Manage Advanced Sourcing and Supplier Development activities to strengthen supply chain capability, quality, and cost performance.
• Conduct Failure Analysis, Root Cause Investigations, and implement effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
• Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to optimize product design and manufacturing efficiency.
• Lead Risk Management activities through FMEA, risk assessments, and process control methodologies.
