We are seeking a motivated Product Engineer / Control Systems Engineer to join our Engineering Department to support cleanroom equipment and automation projects across Singapore and the Asia region. The successful candidate will be responsible for PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, product design, fabrication drawings and technical support for our cleanroom equipment, including Fan Filter Unit (FFU), Air Shower, related control systems with interface to Building BMS/EMS systems and HVAC air distribution products for new project installations, upgrades and A&A works.
Key Responsibilities
1. PLC Programming & Automation Programming (FFUs & Air Shower)
- Develop, program and troubleshoot PLC control systems for cleanroom and HVAC equipment primarily using Omron platforms. Experience with Siemens and Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation) systems is an added advantage.
- Develop HMI interfaces, SCADA systems, control sequences, equipment interlocks and alarm systems.
- Integrate PLCs with sensors, actuators, motors and other electrical control components.
- Configure and support industrial communication protocols including Modbus, BACnet, TCP/IP, and RS485
- Support communication and integration with BMS and centralised monitoring systems.
- Perform inhouse software testing, FAT, SAT, on-site commissioning, and troubleshooting
2. Product Design & Fabrication Drawings
- Support the engineering design and development of Air Showers, Pass Boxes and FFUs.
- Prepare detailed fabrication shop drawings, assembly drawings and manufacturing documentation for cleanroom equipment.
- Support the design and development of other cleanroom equipment, including clean booths and customised cleanroom solutions.
- Prepare fabrication drawings for HVAC air distribution products, including air grilles, diffusers, volume control dampers, motorised dampers and fire dampers.
- Prepare manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and material specifications.
3. Technical & Project Support
- Support new projects, system upgrades, and refurbishment works from design to handover
- Review customer enquiries, tender specifications and engineering drawings.
- Prepare technical submissions, equipment specifications and compliance statements.
- Provide engineering support to Sales, Manufacturing and Project teams.
- Liaise with customers, consultants and contractors on technical requirements.
- Support product development, equipment inspections, commissioning and troubleshooting.
4. Maintenance & Continuous Improvement
- Provide technical support for equipment troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Propose improvements for system standardization, programming efficiency, and product enhancement
- Assist in developing standard PLC libraries and SCADA templates to improve engineering efficiency
5. Regional & On-Site Support
- Conduct on-site commissioning, testing, and service support in Singapore and selected Asia locations
- Provide technical training and system handover to customers and internal service teams
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Automation Engineering.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Strong hands‑on PLC programming skills, with the ability to independently develop complete control programs.
- Experience in developing equipment control and monitoring systems, preferably for
- FFUs, cleanroom equipment, HVAC or building automation applications.
- Experience in HMI / SCADA development (e.g. WinCC, FactoryTalk View, iFIX, Wonderware, Ignition, or equivalent)
- Hands‑on experience with Siemens, Mitsubishi or Omron PLCs.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience preparing detailed fabrication shop drawings.
- Good understanding of mechanical fabrication and electrical control systems.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols, including Modbus or BACnet.
- Knowledge or experience in cleanroom equipment, particularly Air Showers, Pass Boxes and FFUs.
- Knowledge of HVAC air distribution products, including air grilles, diffusers and dampers.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings.
- Willingness to travel overseas for project and service support when required
- Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
