Job summary

OCTOMATE STAFFING PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks a skilled engineer to support client automation projects.

You will engage with customers to understand requirements, lead cross-functional project delivery, and ensure on-time completion across Vision, Manufacturing, Engineering and Software teams. The role involves setting up, commissioning and troubleshooting automation equipment, developing engineering documentation, and coordinating with Product Supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3+ years in automation equipment setup, commissioning or related engineering work.
  • Experience with new product development, project management and execution in automation.
  • Strong understanding of electromechanical systems and automation equipment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and travel overseas when required.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers to understand requirements and provide pre-sales technical support.
  • Lead and coordinate projects across Vision, Manufacturing, Engineering and Software teams.
  • Manage project schedules, milestones and deliverables.
  • Conduct regular project meetings to monitor progress and address issues.
  • Set up, commission and troubleshoot automation equipment with cross-functional teams.
  • Support equipment development and product planning with the Product Supervisor.
  • Develop and maintain engineering docs for assembly, inspection, testing, troubleshooting.
  • Document improvements, lessons learned, and technical solutions.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, status reports for stakeholders.
  • Travel to customer sites, including overseas locations, as required.
  • Support customer projects from setup to on-site execution and troubleshooting.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with customers to understand their technical requirements and provide pre-sales technical support for assigned products.
  • Lead and coordinate projects across STI's Vision, Manufacturing, Engineering and Software teams to optimise system design and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Manage project schedules, milestones and deliverables, ensuring alignment between internal teams and customer expectations.
  • Conduct regular project meetings with relevant stakeholders to monitor progress, address issues and drive timely completion of project activities.
  • Set up, commission and troubleshoot automation equipment, working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to identify and resolve system issues.
  • Support equipment development and product planning activities in collaboration with the Product Supervisor.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including procedures for equipment assembly, inspection, testing and troubleshooting.
  • Document engineering improvements, lessons learned and technical solutions for future reference and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, progress updates and status reports for relevant stakeholders.
  • Support customer projects from equipment setup and commissioning through to on-site execution and troubleshooting.
  • Travel to customer sites, including overseas locations, when required to support project implementation and technical activities.
Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in automation equipment setup, commissioning or related engineering work will be an advantage.
  • Experience with new product development processes, project management and project execution within the equipment or automation industry.
  • Good understanding of electromechanical systems and automation equipment.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and adapt to different tools, working environments and processes.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate a high level of initiative and motivation.
  • Willing and able to travel overseas to support customers and project activities when required.
