Job summary

PERSOL Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a laboratory technician focused on 2D materials development. You will assist in planning experiments like ALD/CVD, collect data, and report results to drive process optimization.

The role involves material characterization using SEM, EDX, Raman, and ellipsometry, plus substrate preparation and routine lab support. Strong safety discipline and familiarity with cleanroom protocols are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Diploma in Materials Science or related field.
• 1+ year hands-on deposition experience (ALD/CVD/thermal processing).
• Experience with 2D materials such as WS2, WSe2, MoS2 is desirable.
• Familiarity with characterization techniques (SEM, EDX, Raman, ellipsometry).
• Basic understanding of chemical safety, gas handling, and cleanroom protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in planning and executing experiments (e.g., ALD/CVD, post-processing) with data collection and reporting.

• Prepare substrates, precursors, and consumables, and support day-to-day operation of process tools and lab equipment.

• Strictly adhere to EHS protocols, including safe handling of chemicals and gases, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Contribute to process optimization, tool readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives in 2D materials development.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in planning and executing experiments (e.g., ALD/CVD, post-processing, and related process development), including data collection, preliminary analysis, and reporting within established safety guidelines.




• Perform material characterization using techniques such as SEM, EDX, Raman, PL, and ellipsometry to evaluate film quality and uniformity.




• Prepare substrates, precursors, and consumables, and support day-to-day operation of process tools and lab equipment.




• Generate clear internal documentation including run logs, SOPs, and summaries for technical reviews and presentations.




• Strictly adhere to EHS protocols, including safe handling of chemicals and gases (e.g., chalcogen precursors), and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.




• Contribute to process optimization, tool readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives in 2D materials development.

Technical Skills

• Diploma / Degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.




• ≥1-year hands-on experience in thin film deposition (e.g., ALD, CVD, or thermal processing) is a plus.




• Exposure to 2D materials such as WS2, WSe2, MoS2 or related TMDs is desirable.




• Familiarity with characterization techniques (SEM, EDX, Raman, ellipsometry) is a plus.




• Basic understanding of chemical safety, gas handling, and cleanroom/lab protocols.
