Applied Materials, Inc. is seeking a Process Engineer to design and optimize manufacturing processes for display and semiconductor technologies at Fusionopolis/Science Park II in Singapore.

You will collect data, analyze results, perform hardware characterization, and troubleshoot engineering issues while liaising with customers. Qualifications

  • PhD, MSc or BSc in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics.
  • Research focus in semiconductor is a plus.
  • At least 2 years of semiconductor process development experience (CVD/PVD/ALD).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

  • Design, collect data, analyze and report on diverse process engineering experiments within safety guidelines.
  • Perform hardware characterization on complex systems within safety guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot problems, conduct root cause analysis and resolve process issues.
  • Generate internal and external documentation for products, presentations and technical reports.
  • Interact with customers to resolve process engineering issues with limited supervision.
  • Measure film properties and interpret data.
  • Identify and work with vendors and suppliers with limited supervision.
  • Implement new technology, products and analytical instrumentation.

Process Engineer

As a Process Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in designing and optimizing manufacturing processes for display and semiconductor manufacturing technologies. You will collect and analyze data, perform hardware characterization, and troubleshoot engineering issues. You'll also measure film properties, generate technical documentation, and engage with customers to resolve concerns. Process Engineers collaborate with vendors and suppliers, and become familiar with implementing new technologies and products. You will experiment, learn, and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the semiconductor and display industries, partnering with our globally recognized R&D teams on state-of-the-art research and development projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, collect data, analyze and compile reports on a variety of difficult process engineering experiments, within safety guidelines
  • Perform hardware characterization on a variety of difficult systems, within safety guidelines
  • Troubleshoot a variety of complex problems, perform Root Cause Analysis and resolve a variety of difficult process engineering issues
  • Generate internal and external documentation for products, presentations and technical reports
  • Interact with customers to resolve a variety of difficult process engineering issues/problems with limited supervision
  • Measure film properties and interpret data
  • Identify, select and work with vendors and suppliers with limited supervision
  • Implement new technology, products and analytical instrumentation
Requirements
  • PhD or Master or Bachelor in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics or related field
  • Research focus in semiconductor would be an added advantage
  • At least 2 years of relevant experiences in semiconductor including CVD/ PVD/ ALD process development field
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solver attitude with determination and quality-mindset
