Job summary

COWI Singapore PTE. LTD. is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to oversee Transportation and Infrastructure projects in our Singapore office. You will lead design teams, ensure technical delivery, and uphold quality standards while supporting project management and business development.

You will introduce best practices, manage projects end-to-end, liaise with clients, and allocate resources and budgets. A PE in Singapore and 15+ years of experience are essential for this leadership role.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering or similar field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registered in Singapore.
• 15 or more years of qualified experience as a Structural Engineer in a large or matrix organization with a global context.
• Experience delivering and leading design packages as a technical leader and developing technical proposals.

We are seeking a highlight experienced Principal Structural Engineer in our Singapore office to oversee Transportation and Infrastructure projects. Leading the design and engineering teams, you will be responsible for technical delivery, operations and ensuring technical excellence, and to the required quality standards. In addition, you will support project managers and business development and ensure projects deliveries through a thorough understanding of our project model and according to our internal processes.

Furthermore, on a day-to-day basis, you will:

• Introduce project management best practices, establish action plans, and guide strategic initiatives in partnership with senior management.
• Oversee all aspects of the project, from initiation to closure, ensuring project outcomes are achieved within the agreed timeline, budget, and quality standards.
• Liaising with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to client requirements as well as developing client relationships and participating in business development opportunities as assigned
• Perform forecasting, resource allocation, scheduling, and budgeting for assigned project(s).
• Oversee construction administration activities along with performing site inspections and other tasks as required.
• Support project team members, provide guidance, and facilitate teamwork and collaboration.
• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables, in collaboration with the client, project team, and stakeholders.

On top of that, you have:

• Master’s degree in engineering or similar field with 15 or more years of qualified experience as a Structural Engineer in a large or matrix organization with a global context.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering and leading design packages as a technical leader with a proven ability to also develop technical proposals.
• Experience in managing a design team on infrastructure projects within Singapore (considered an asset).
• Is a Professional Engineer (PE) registered in Singapore.
• Extensive practice in conceptual and detailed design, whilst ensuring detailed organization, transparent communication, and engaging participation.
• Efficient written and verbal communication skills combined with great inter personal and relationship-building skills.
