As a Security Firmware Engineer, you will provide technical capability in creating and integrating security firmware IP for SSD products across the product lifecycle, from inception to obsolescence.
Responsibilities
- Develop and test firmware SSD products: create security firmware IP subsystems that meet or exceed the technical specification matrix, ensuring security, performance, functionality, and quality/reliability.
- Firmware Quality Assurance: develop firmware unit and functional tests that validate quality, functional, and performance requirements at each integration milestone.
- Communicate effectively: provide detailed, summarized updates on firmware development activities and project status to management, cross-functional team members, and the firmware team.
- Develop people: foster collaborative, constructive relationships with peers and management, improve team morale and productivity.
- Personal development: continuously enhance technical capabilities and communication skills.
- Utilize AI: integrate AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work, improve efficiency and quality, and share AI-enabled enhancements within scope.
Requirements
- PhD in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with minimum 2 years experience in embedded firmware development OR Masters/Bachelors in Electrical or Computer Engineering with minimum 5 years' experience in embedded firmware development.
- Embedded Security domain knowledge and experience is an advantage.
- Expertise in programming languages (C, C++, Rust) and programming tools & environments.
- Experience programming in Python is an advantage.
- Understanding of storage interfaces, ideally PCIe/NVMe, SATA, or SAS.
- Experience with NAND flash and other non-volatile storage is an advantage.
- Experience in storage industry, storage systems, or a related technology is an advantage.
- Ability to conduct analysis, design, perform programming, debug, and modify software.
- Proficiency in resolving code problems for firmware applications.
- Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and AI literacy to use AI-enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, analysis, content creation, problem-solving, operational tasks, and achieving business outcomes.
