Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc is looking for a Product Development Engineer 4 in Singapore to define and implement security test strategies for SSD firmware across all product phases. The role involves collaboration with firmware teams, and mentoring junior engineers while driving test automation and quality reporting.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement security test strategies for SSD firmware across all product phases.
• Design and execute grey‑box and white‑box tests for security features and protocols.
• Perform deep root‑cause analysis on security failures from regressions, customer issues, and field escapes.
• Drive test automation, regression integration, and quality reporting.
• Collaborate closely with firmware teams on secure design reviews and issue isolation.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on test methodologies and debugging.

Skills

Strong understanding of SSD architecture and PCIe / NVMe protocols

Experience with NVMe command sets, firmware lifecycle, and update flows

Proficiency in Python‑based test automation and embedded systems

Hands‑on experience in firmware validation and system‑level debugging

Education

Bachelor’s or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent

Key Skills & Experience

• Experience with NVMe command sets, firmware lifecycle, and update flows

• Hands‑on experience in firmware validation and system‑level debugging

AI Requirements

Preferred security expertise includes knowledge of security standards and technologies such as TCG, NVMe security, SPDM, secure boot, cryptography, FIPS, and hardware Root of Trust architectures.
