Job summary

Global Automotive MNC in Singapore creates a Principal Engineer, Supplier Quality Management role focused on semiconductor test and burn‑in, to lead supplier quality for wafer sort, burn‑in and final test and monitor key KPIs.

You will conduct IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3 audits, drive 8D investigations, support NPI qualification with A93K tester setup, and push continuous improvement across OSAT suppliers with global collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in semiconductor test engineering or supplier quality.
• Automotive semiconductor exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage Semiconductor Test Suppliers – drive supplier quality for wafer sort, burn-in and final test, monitoring yield and KPIs.
• Lead audits & quality compliance – conduct VDA 6.3 and IATF 16949 audits; ensure supplier conformance with AEC-Q100, PPAP and customer-specific requirements.
• Lead 8D/root-cause investigations for yield excursions and reliability failures; implement containment and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with R&D and Operations to qualify new test processes and assess supplier readiness for NPI.
• Drive supplier improvement across test coverage, process capability, and defect prevention; review DFT/MBIST/JTAG and support continuous improvement across OSAT suppliers.

Principal Engineer, Supplier Quality Management

(Semiconductor Testing & Burn-In)

Job Description

• Manage Semiconductor Test Suppliers – Drive supplier quality for wafer sort, burn-in and final test, monitoring yield, PPM, test escapes, reliability fallout and other key qualityKPIs.
• Lead Audits & Quality Compliance – Conduct VDA 6.3 and IATF 16949 audits, and ensure suppliers meet AEC-Q100, APQP, PPAP and customer-specific requirements.
• Drive Test & Burn-In Problem Solving – Lead 8D/root-cause investigations for yield excursions, test escapes, burn-in fallout and reliability failures, ensuring effective containment and permanent corrective actions.
• Support NPI & Test Process Qualification – Work with R&D and Operations to qualify new test processes, including A93K tester setup/programming, test hardware, correlation studies, test coverage, burn-in boards/sockets and HVS requirements, and assess supplier readiness for NPI.
• Drive Supplier Improvement – Improve test coverage, process capability, automation and defect prevention while reviewing DFT/test coverage such as scan, ATPG, MBIST, LBIST and JTAG and supporting continuous improvement across the supplier base.

Job Requirements

• Semiconductor Test Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Semiconductor Physics or related discipline, with 7+ years of semiconductor test engineering and/or supplier quality experience, preferably including 3+ years in automotive semiconductors.
• Hands-on A93K Experience – Practical experience working with Advantest A93K testers, with a good understanding of tester hardware/software, test programs, production test setup, test correlation and troubleshooting. Candidates should be able to work directly with OSAT/test suppliers on A93K-related issues.
• Burn-In & Reliability Experience – Hands‑on experience with semiconductor burn‑in, including burn‑in boards/sockets, stress‑condition definition, monitoring, data analysis, failure investigation and correlation; experience with HVS and AEC-Q100 is highly desirable.
• Quality & Problem‑Solving Expertise – Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA and structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC and DOE.
• Supplier & Cross‑Functional Management – Proven ability to work with OSATs, test houses and reliability/FA laboratories, collaborate with R&D and Operations, drive corrective actions and communicate effectively with global suppliers; willingness to travel internationally.
