Job summary

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to understand the Scope of Work (SOW).
• Provide supervision and guidance to fellow Engineers for better quality design.
• Perform mechanical parts design (plastic, sheet metal, rubber).
• Design electro-mechanical subsystems, micro-mechanisms and transmission systems.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and suppliers throughout the product cycle.
• Coordinate construction of prototype and pilot run articles.
• Review and evaluate vendors for performance.
• Lead project discussions as required.
• Troubleshoot and provide solutions for development issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Company.

We’re looking to add a Principal Engineer, R&D (Mechanical) in Singapore. The position is based in our HQ at Ang Mo Kio.

As a Principal Engineer, R&D (Mechanical), you will be:

Responsible for the development and delivery of a wide range of state-of-the‑art products for global markets, from invention to mass production.

• To engage positively and closely with customers to understand the Scope of Work (SOW).
• Provide supervision and guidance to fellow Engineers for better quality design.
• Perform mechanical parts design, including plastic, sheetmetal and rubber parts.
• Perform design of electro‑mechanical subsystems, micro‑mechanisms and transmission systems.
• Work with the Manufacturing team and part suppliers throughout the product cycle in a fast‑paced environment.
• Coordinate construction of prototype and pilot run articles.
• Review and evaluate vendors for performance.
• Lead project discussions as and when required.
• Troubleshoot, analyse and provide solutions for technical problems faced during development
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Company

Requirements:

• Masters/Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge and experience in mechanism or automation design are preferred.
• Knowledge and design experience in plastic, sheetmetal and rubber parts will be advantageous.
