Job summary

DDW-PaxOcean Shipyard Pte. Ltd. in Singapore seeks an experienced structural design engineer to independently develop designs that comply with Class and technical specs within the project schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of marine/offshore structure design experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, AVEVA, FEMA; strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver project design drawings and documents according to project plan.
• Take on project lead role for assigned designs.
• Review external designer’s pre-contract technical specifications, general arrangement and drawing lists.
• Liaise with Owner and Classification Society for design compliance, review, and approval.
• Review external designer’s pre-contract technical specifications, GA drawings and lists.
• Perform FE analysis using FEMAP (advantage).
• Review project team drawings, calculations, or documents prior to submission.
• Perform structural and rudder calculations and design.
• Prepare optimized arrangement and detailed structure concepts.
• Prepare sourcing specifications for fittings related to structure (special materials/construction, rudder, etc.).
• Coordinate with detail/production designers and check outputs.
• Communicate with production on troubleshooting and on-site visits if needed.

Position Summary

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Responsible for delivering the respective project design drawing and document according to project plan schedule.
  Shall take on project lead role
• Review external designer’s pre-contract technical specifications, general arrangement and drawing lists.
• Liaise with Owner and Classification Society for the specific design requirement compliance, review, and approval.
• Review external designer’s pre-contract technical specifications, general arrangement and drawing lists.
• Performing FE analysis using FEMAP is an advantage.
• Review project team members drawings, calculations or documents prior submission.
• Perform structural calculation, rudder calculation and design.
• Prepare optimized arrangement & detail structure concept.
• Prepares sourcing technical specifications for fittings related to structure (special material/construction, rudder,
  etc.)
• Coordinates with detail designer / production designer and checks their processes and output.
• Communicate with the person in charge of production on trouble shooting and visiting on-site if needed.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in themarine/offshore industry with Structure newbuildingengineering design.
