Overview
Independently develop structural design to comply with Class and Technical specification requirements within assigned schedule.
Responsibilities
Deliver the respective project design drawing and documents according to the project plan schedule. Take on project lead role.
Review external designer’s pre-contract technical specifications, general arrangement and drawing lists.
Liaise with Owner and Classification Society for the specific design requirement compliance, review, and approval.
Perform FE analysis using FEMAP (an advantage).
Review project team members drawings, calculations or documents prior submission.
Perform structural calculation, rudder calculation and design.
Prepare optimized arrangement and detailed structure concept.
Prepare sourcing technical specifications for fittings related to structure (special material/construction, rudder, etc.).
Coordinate with detail designer/production designer and check their processes and output.
Communicate with the person in charge of production on troubleshooting and on-site visits if needed.
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in the marine/offshore industry with structural newbuilding engineering design.
Familiar with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, AVEVA, FEMA; good communication and analytical skills.
