Job description

Overview

Independently develop structural design to comply with Class and Technical specification requirements within assigned schedule.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the respective project design drawing and documents according to the project plan schedule. Take on project lead role.
• Review external designer’s pre-contract technical specifications, general arrangement and drawing lists.
• Liaise with Owner and Classification Society for the specific design requirement compliance, review, and approval.
• Perform FE analysis using FEMAP (an advantage).
• Review project team members drawings, calculations or documents prior submission.
• Perform structural calculation, rudder calculation and design.
• Prepare optimized arrangement and detailed structure concept.
• Prepare sourcing technical specifications for fittings related to structure (special material/construction, rudder, etc.).
• Coordinate with detail designer/production designer and check their processes and output.
• Communicate with the person in charge of production on troubleshooting and on-site visits if needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in the marine/offshore industry with structural newbuilding engineering design.
• Familiar with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, AVEVA, FEMA; good communication and analytical skills.
