Job summary

Oliver Wyman in Singapore is seeking a Principal to lead complex financial-services strategy and transformation engagements across Southeast Asia. You will combine senior-level advisory work with hands-on delivery of digital banking products and influence decisions at the highest client levels.

You will mentor junior consultants, build lasting client relationships, and work with regional leadership to raise client impact while delivering thought leadership in the financial services space.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8–10 years of Financial Services experience, from a top-tier strategy firm or equivalent in-house consulting.
• Proven track record of leading and managing teams or work streams under tight deadlines.

As a Principal, you will:

• Lead complex financial-services strategy and transformation engagements across Southeast Asia, combining senior-level advisory work with hands-on delivery of digital banking products. The role requires demonstrated expertise spanning digital banking, AI-enabled management solutions, secured and unsecured digital lending, embedded finance, and virtual assets.


• Lead end-to-end initiatives covering proposition design, business-case development, operating-model and technology-architecture design, credit-risk policies, regulatory engagement, go-to-market execution and MVP launch.


• Manage end-to-end project delivery (or key modules), including hypothesis development, data gathering, and rigorous analysis to generate actionable insights.


• Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior executives, influencing decisions and expanding long-term partnerships.


• Partner closely with Oliver Wyman leadership to deliver exceptional work quality and raise the bar on client impact.


• Mentor and develop junior consultants, fostering a collaborative, high-performance, and learning-oriented culture.


• Drive thought leadership by shaping and communicating market insights that strengthen Oliver Wyman’s profile in the financial services industry.

What You Will Bring

• At least 8-10 years of relevant Financial Services experience, ideally with a top-tier strategy consulting firm (or similar organisation) or with industry experience from a strategy department or inhouse consulting


• Track record of leading and managing teams or work streams and delivering against tight deadlines in fast paced and demanding environments


• Strong experience advising banks and consumer-finance institutions, managing senior executives and multidisciplinary regional teams, and converting strategy into successfully implemented products is essential.


• Strong background in strategic problem solving with demonstrable analytical skills


• Financial services industry knowledge, breadth across or depth within one of our practice areas is preferred.


• Ability to apply content knowledge for thought leadership in project execution, develop new intellectual capital to support business development activities, and for Principal hires to lead these activities


• Outstanding communication skills; confidence in presenting to senior executives


• Undergraduate and/or advanced degree from a top academic program


• Willingness to travel
