Job summary

Base Camp in Singapore is seeking a Principal Software Engineer, AI & Data Platform to lead the architecture of the data and AI engineering foundation, enabling scalable ML systems and intelligent workflows. The role is hybrid in Singapore and offers a salary up to SGD 220,000 per annum.

This hands-on technical leadership position focuses on solving challenging engineering problems, setting technical direction, and delivering production-grade AI solutions in a fast-moving product environment.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience designing and delivering production software systems.
Expert-level Python development with a track record of building scalable backend platforms.
Experience with large-scale data engineering and ML pipelines.

Responsibilities

Architect scalable data platforms for large scientific/engineering data and ML readiness.
Design domain-specific data models to support analytics and ML workloads.
Build high-performance data pipelines across object storage and analytical platforms.
Develop ML data pipelines for ingestion, curation, and evaluation datasets.
Build and operate model training and fine-tuning pipelines for production AI applications.
Design intelligent workflows that connect user intent with platform capabilities.
Establish evaluation frameworks, benchmarking, and automated model quality monitoring.
Define engineering best practices across data and AI platforms with reusable frameworks.
