Qualifications

• At least 2–5 years of relevant professional teaching experience in early childhood.
• Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood or Education or equivalent from a recognised university.
• Teachers Certificates, Diplomas or other Teacher Accreditation courses if the degree is not in Education.
• IB PYP course and training are highly valued.
• Knowledge of inquiry-based learning is required.
• Original copies of certificates and transcripts must be provided for authentication.
• International experience, especially in Asia, is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Respect and value each child’s social, cultural and religious background and model mutual respect and tolerance.
• Share in the management of pastoral care, health, welfare and behaviour of pupils in the designated class.
• Undertake the teaching of a class in line with school policies and guidelines.
• Use a variety of teaching and caring methods to ensure high quality learning.
• Provide planning documents with learning objectives, differentiation, special needs, extension and assessment.
• Maintain professional dialogue with colleagues and keep information confidential.
• Ensure equal opportunities for all.
• Encourage children to take pride in their environment and show respect for others.
• Maintain a tidy, well-organised classroom and well-labelled resources.
• Collaborate with Principal and staff on pupil assessment procedures and moderation portfolios.
• Keep records of achievement for each child and provide reports as necessary.
• Build positive links with parents of children in your care.
• Guide, motivate and monitor classroom helpers in their tasks.
