Job summary

UWCSEA East is seeking a Learning Coach for August 2027 to lead Digital Literacy initiatives and support teachers across the Primary School in enhancing pedagogical practice. The role blends coaching with teaching responsibilities and requires collaborative leadership within the school community.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in primary education, digital literacy, and curriculum design, with a commitment to ongoing professional growth and inclusive teaching.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or an equivalent recognised degree/teaching qualification in Primary (K–5) Education.
• Minimum of 5 years of successful Primary classroom teaching experience (ages 4–11).
• Proven track record in teacher leadership, coaching, mentoring, or adult learning facilitation.
• Technical & Digital Expertise: Experience integrating educational technology into K–5 classrooms; familiarity with Apple environments.
• Commitment to ongoing personal professional learning and knowledge of curriculum design, assessment for learning, and pedagogical practice.

Responsibilities

• Partner with teachers through structured coaching cycles to enhance classroom practice and meet professional growth goals.
• Design and deliver high-impact professional learning sessions for staff, aligning classroom practice with strategic priorities.
• Lead the implementation and alignment of the K–5 Digital and Information Literacy Curriculum across all grade levels.
• Guide teachers in leveraging digital tools and platforms to enhance inquiry-driven learning.
• Engage teachers in data-informed conversations to guide instructional decisions and next steps.
• Monitor and communicate the impact of coaching initiatives to school leadership and parents.
