Job summary

UWCSEA East invites a Learning Coach for Digital Literacy (August 2027). You will collaborate with teachers to strengthen classroom practice, design K–5 digital curricula, and mentor staff through data-informed coaching cycles. The role blends teaching with professional development within a trusted, growth-oriented culture.

The ideal candidate has a B.Ed. and 5+ years in primary teaching, with strong skills in educational technology, digital safety, and inquiry-based learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education or equivalent teaching qualification in Primary (K–5).
• Minimum of 5 years of successful Primary classroom teaching (ages 4–11).
• Proven track record in teacher leadership, coaching, mentoring, or adult learning facilitation.
• Technical & Digital Expertise: integrating educational technology into K–5 classrooms (Apple familiarity preferred).
• Experience guiding on digital safety, wellbeing, ethical information use, and emerging tools (e.g., AI).
• Commitment to ongoing personal professional learning and DEI principles.

Responsibilities

• Partner with teachers through structured, non-judgemental coaching cycles to enhance practice.
• Facilitate reflective dialogue and action research grounded in trust and professionalism.
• Design and deliver high-impact professional learning sessions aligned with school priorities.
• Lead the implementation and alignment of K–5 Digital and Information Literacy Curriculum across grades.
• Guide teachers in leveraging digital tools and platforms to support inquiry-based learning.
• Nurture safe, ethical digital citizenship and information evaluation for students and staff.
• Support unit design, interdisciplinary learning, and assessment for learning.
• Engage teachers in data-informed conversations to guide instructional decisions.
• Monitor and communicate impact of coaching initiatives to leadership.
