Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safety procedures and safe temperatures for ingredients.
• Ability to work as part of a team to prepare dishes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with staff and management.
• Calm demeanor to work in a high-stress environment.
• Accountability to meet kitchen and quality standards.
• Ability to follow recipes and measured instructions.
• Manual dexterity for knife skills and food prep.
• Able to stand for long periods and handle heat.
• At least 2 years cooking experience, preferably in childcare.
• Capable of working independently as needed and collaborating with others.
• Basic calculations to manage quantities and portions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
• Follow recipes with precise measuring, weighing and mixing.
• Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh.
• Cook using bake, grill, steam and boil methods.
• Present, garnish and arrange final dishes.
• Occasionally serve food to children.
• Keep work area clean and safe, manage utensils and tools.
• Handle and store ingredients and foods properly.
• Ensure proper food storage and labeling with expiry dates.
• Keep equipment cleaned before and after use.
• Monitor freezer and refrigerator temperatures.
• Adhere to health guidelines during preparation and serving.
• Manage stock, ordering and budget alignment.
• Maintain correct stock levels and label with expiry dates.
• Remove waste materials regularly to designated bins.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by superiors.
