Job summary

VDL ETG Singapore is seeking a Manufacturing Process Improvement professional to optimize production processes, ensure quality control, and manage resources to meet targets.

You will lead structured problem-solving, train operators, and drive cost-saving initiatives while staying compliant with safety and environmental regulations. The role requires collaboration across functions to resolve technical issues and implement automation-driven improvements.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Industrial Engineering)
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, automation, and process improvement
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes (machining, robotics, polishing, welding)
• Knowledge of automation solutions and digital tools
• Knowledge of OEE metrics and data analysis
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations
• Experience with 8D problem-solving methodology and CAPA implementation
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to lead and participate in improvement projects
• Continuous learning mindset and adaptability to new technologies and processes
• Knowledge of training development and delivery
• Experience with cross-functional collaboration and process improvement initiatives

Responsibilities

• Monitor production performance, track OEE metrics, and identify areas for improvement
• Optimize shop floor layout, material flow, and equipment relocation to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity
• Improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and enhance product quality through process improvements and automation solutions
• Lead 8D projects, drive structured problem-solving initiatives, and implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues
• Track and manage consumable tools and non-capitalized equipment inventory levels, optimize inventory levels, and prevent stockouts
• Manage suppliers to ensure timely delivery and optimal pricing
• Ensure safety compliance, conduct regular safety audits, and address operator concerns
• Provide technical support to operators, resolve issues, and develop clear procedures
• Design and implement automated workflows, minimize human intervention, and ensure seamless machine operations
• Identify training needs, develop targeted training programs, and document training processes and outcomes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex production issues, drive process improvements, and share knowledge
• Plan and allocate resources to meet production targets, monitor performance, and identify bottlenecks
• Lead improvement projects, implement cost-reduction initiatives, and track savings
• Maintain accurate documentation of process changes, tooling updates, quality improvements, and operator feedback
