Frencken Mechatronics in Singapore seeks a skilled CNC Setter/Technician to set up VMC/HMC, 5‑axis mills and lathes per setup sheets and process plans. You will verify fixtures, preset tools, load CNC programs, and perform dry runs with datum verification for in-process control.

You will conduct First Article Inspections, optimize feeds and speeds, and document stable parameters for handover while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• Secondary school education or technical certificate in Precision Engineering/Mechanical.
• 3–5 years’ experience as a CNC Machine Setter/Technician in precision machining.
• Proficient with CNC controls (FANUC preferred; Siemens/Heidenhain an advantage).
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation.
• Skilled with metrology tools and first‑article checks.
• Hands‑on knowledge of tooling, workholding, probing cycles, offsets, and coolant strategies across common materials.

Responsabilités

• Set up CNC VMC/HMC, 5-axis mills, and CNC lathes per setup sheets and process plans.
• Prepare and verify workholding/fixtures and ensure proper clamping and datum strategy.
• Select and preset cutting tools and validate tool paths; use offline tool presetters where applicable.
• Load and verify CNC programs; perform dry runs and prove-outs with collision checks.
• Establish work coordinate systems (G54–G59) and probing cycles for in-process control.
• Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI) and adjust offsets to meet nominal dimensions and surface finish.
• Optimise feeds/speeds, stepovers, coolant delivery, and toolpaths for time efficiency and quality.
• Document and communicate stable process parameters to operators; ensure clean handover.
• Troubleshoot setup and machining issues and perform root-cause containment on the line.
• Support quick changeovers and mixed-model scheduling; apply SMED principles.
