Job summary

ERI@N at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Research Engineer II to advance microgrid technology and clean energy solutions. You will design, test, and validate power and energy management systems for next-gen transmission and distribution grids.

The role requires deep expertise in EMT/RMS modelling, HIL/SIL platforms, and grid-code compliance, with collaboration across international research partners. Singapore-based position with impactful deployments.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Electrical/Computer Engineering with focus on Power Converters or Power & Energy Systems.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in power/energy systems modelling, HIL/SIL validation.
• Expertise with EMT & RMS modelling tools: PSCAD, DigiSilent PowerFactory, Siemens PSS-E.
• Experience with HIL/SIL platforms: OPAL-RT/RTDS.
• Knowledge of grid codes and standards (IEEE 2030, IEEE 1547, ENTSO-E/RfG, EN 50549).
• Strong data analytics and visualization skills; capable of presenting results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design, test, and validate power and energy management systems.
• Develop EMT/RMS models for grid-following and grid-forming scenarios.
• Configure HIL and SIL platforms for technology deployment.
• Perform dynamic stability, transient, and harmonic analyses.
• Collaborate with international researchers and industry partners on milestones and reports.
